Those shrooms look familiar.
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get those mushrooms?
ReplyDeleteI think Çikira has those 'shrooms in her studio too.
ReplyDeleteI don't think they make the mushroom versions any more, but you can get abstract plasma stuff here:

I got one of the sculpture things (wanted a mushroom, couldn't find one) and it looks very cool... but, it emits a high pitched noise when turned on, which makes it completely worthless in the studio. So I had to move it downstairs...
Yeah, I found the mushrooms on both Midiwall and Cikira's site. I think I got the link off of Midiwall before Mark's site went down. I don't see the link there anymore. I ordered them online and have had them for years. Good quality shrooms. : )
ReplyDeleteBTW, not sure if it was off of coolstuffcheap. I'll pink Mark and see if he knows.
ReplyDeleteHey all;
ReplyDeleteI got the initial pair for Çikira and I back in July of 2000 from a place called "Mystical Dragon": http://mysticaldragon.stores.yahoo.net/
They were pricey btw, which could be one reason I don't see them there any more. :(
I know that Çikira bought more later, she may have found them someplace else. I took a quick look on Google and couldn't find them, but then I think ya'll knew that.
The Mystical Dragon called them "Mushroom Electra Plasma Lamps". I'm pretty sure they're part of the LumiSource collection.
Wait... I found a red/blue one on eBay:

OMG - you don't want to know what I paid for the original ones. EEEK!
