Poinsettia Jam | bioelectric skiff project
video upload by Musical Miscellany & More
"It's that time of year so I decided to make a seasonal video where the modular synth (or the poinsettia to be more accurate) created the song. The Garden Listener, Pet Rock, Solar Voltages modules all play a part in this holiday-themed composition.

"Christmas Card 6" featuring NI Una Corda, Moog Messenger, OB6, Take 5, OB-X8
video upload by Tim Grogan
"I started doing these musical Christmas Cards because I was inspired to create something different from the old classic Christmas tunes. I prefer to hear/visualize a wintry scene and to try to encapsulate the wonder of what Christmas felt like when I was a kid and I think the instrumental form keeps it a bit more open to interpretation. I found it to be a really satisfying way to focus on that feeling and write and it felt good to offer an alternative. Here's Christmas Card 6, in the spirit of that."

"Elysian Fields" (Moog Subharmonicon & Mother-32 jam)
video upload by No Lake
I wanted to close the year with the best of myself. I don't think I've ever been so psychically invested in a jam. I am in love with both of these machines. Nothing less, nothing more.
I wish you all good times with your family and friends. Cheers everyone, Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all of you!
Headphones recommended."

The last video in 2024. ✨
Thank you all for your attention and support. There is such a great community here every week with nice people from all over the world that I always think to myself, why couldn't it be as peaceful everywhere as it is here? ☮
I share my passion for old synthesizers and music with you here and am always amazed at how many people are touched by it.💝 It's not about collecting clicks and commerce, it's much more important to me to give people a good time. Even if it's just a few minutes.
Your feedback gives me the motivation to keep going. And there is still a lot to come. I already have video material ready for the next 6 years. So stay tuned.
I wish you all a happy 2025, I wish you health and inner harmony. ☯
Thank you. 💌

RoaF Modular - Carol of the Oscillators | A Modular Synth Patch
video upload by ChiaroBen
"A variation on Carol of the Bells - the main 4 note melody always struck me as very melancholic for a christmas song, and I've been fascinated with it for a while now. This is my spin on it.
Pico VCO is playing the melody, while ALA Beehive is providing a bassline. Coloured noise into Benjolin as a texture filler, and sometimes little drum hits, which are also coloured noise from Pico Noise.
The melody gets put through Pico DSP delay, and then TTA Zverb - the Shimmer Pitch Adjust is one of my favourite reverb modes on that module.
Pitch info comes from Mimetic Digitalis, which gets put through Shakmat's Bard Quartet for quantization. Channel 2 provides the bass, with four different notes switched by the harmoy, which comes from RitS QUA's attenuaters put through Trace, swept by øchd expander.
Noise Engineering's Kith Ruina provides distortion for the bassline, and sometimes breaks up, which caught me by surprise, but I like to record my patches with errors and all, instead of slaving over a perfect patch every time - generative music is unpredictable in places, and that's what makes it organic.
Switching the bass notes with Vice Verga instead of Trace would've probably been less disruptive, but I decided against rerecording and keeping the track as is.
Happy Holidays, everyone. Remember - music is powerful.
