Sequencer Art II
video upload by John L Rice
"Notes suggested by Alan: C, E, F, G, Bb, C, E, F
The Chladni app used on my iPad for the visuals mimics the nodal patterns that appear on surfaces when modulated at audio frequencies. This was pioneered by Robert Hooke in the late 1600's and by Ernst Chladni in the late 1700's.
Gear used:
Large format modular synth: Synth Tech, Moon Modular, Club Of The Knobs
Yamaha FS1R
Mellotron M4000D Rack
Roland A-88 keyboard controller
Strymon and Lexicon effects

The Amazing Recording History of Here Comes the Sun
video upload by You Can't Unhear This
"Here Comes The Sun has become one of the most popular and treasured Beatles songs, a gateway into their music for many new fans. This 3-minute gem of unforgettable songwriting is also packed with intriguing anomalies, production quirks and even a mystery. Unlike the vast majority of Beatles songs, Here Comes the Sun was not written by the main songwriting duo of Paul McCartney and John Lennon, but rather by George Harrison, the youngest member of the quartet, who contributed two memorable pieces to the Abbey Road album - an endearing love song called Something, and the effervescent Here Comes the Sun.
I’m going to take you on a journey through the song’s creation and point out some of these surprises. As a fair warning, You Can't Unhear This.
Special thanks to Devin Ellis, Alex Gittleson and Eli Rosen

Improvisation on Matrix 12 and Yusynth modular by wo visiting friends
video upload by yusynthman
Update:
Two passionate friends visiting my studio. (2)
"Last Saturday afternoon, I had the visit of two musician friends visiting my synth studio. Here, the 'dread lock giant' is having a lot of fun tweaking a sequence on my Yusynth modular synth, while I manage to play a few notes and chords on the Memotron (a modern recreation of the Mellotron by Manikin Elecronic) to accompany the sequence. The other visitor is behind the camera and makes a kind of panoramic view of my music studio."

Processed Mellotron M4000D May 31st 2024
video upload by John L Rice
"A quick and dirty Mellotron noodle. I currently can’t stand for long (foot issue) so I took some experimental noodling audio and some rough snapshots of the gear used and edited it all into a video FWIW.
So it's the Mellotron M4000D Rack was processed through a Club Of The Knobs fixed filter bank and channel enhancer with 6 outputs of the channel enhancer mixed by Modcan and Moon mixers and returned to the main Allen and Heath mixer for some additional EQ and effects processing from Strymon pedals Mobius, DECO, and BigSky, plus a touch of reverb from the Lexicon MX400."

"Featuring self transposing Moon Modular 569 sequencer with 569ES and 569EG expanders and two 564 switches to vary the pattern. And a few notes played on the Mellotron M4000D Rack. Strymon BigSky and Lexicon MX400 for reverb."
