NEW Mellotron Micro Module - 2025 review and demonstration video

video upload by Now You Know

"Review of the new for 2025, Mellotron Micro Module. Basically a Mellotron Micro without the keyboard. Use your own controller keyboard with the Mellotron Micro Module. Review the micro module for its sound, functions, price point. In 2025, the Mellotron Micro is retailing for around $500 USD. I paid $695 CAD. Thanks @MellotronFactory for this wonderful instrument."

"Immaculate condition with very light studio use. Wonderful feeling wooden keybed with polyphonic aftertouch so you can really lean into the volume of the sounds just like the real thing. Also comes with five additional sound cards – 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 which have an additional 100 sounds on each. Check out digitalmellotron.com for the full list of each as it’s too big to list here. The cost of the cards was £2,000 on their own. Boxed."

The Vintage Synthesizer Museum Doc - A "Living Museum" where otherworldly sounds come to life!

video upload by Helium Vision

"In this episode of Helium Vision, we invite you into a world that hums with the strange and the beautiful—the Vintage Synthesizer Museum (VSM). Founded in 2013 by the avid synthesizer historian Lance Hill, this “living museum” exists in a space where the past and present come together to offer an immersive experience into the magical world of sound. It’s not just a museum—it’s a place where visitors and artists can disappear into their work, perform in a unique atmosphere, or learn the art of synthesis.

Initially opening its doors in Oakland the VSM is now nestled in the heart of Los Angeles, this space has since witnessed the presence of many modern visionaries—Damon Albarn, Egyptian Lover and Neurosis, to name a few—each leaving behind their own distinctive imprints.

Come with us, as we step into the otherworldly corners of the Vintage Synthesizer Museum and uncover the tales of the instruments that dwell within.

06.06.2025 Radio Aktivitaet for fun - Take 1

video upload by batchas

"Can't of course beat the original masterpiece by Kraftwerk, but it won't stop me to have some fun playing with all these beautiful machines.
I record only one take, to not spend too much time on settings and fine tuning.
If I had to record a second time, I'd finish the track differently.
I'll prob. do next a video to show the different audio sources / MIDI tracks before moving forward to another tune. For now here's how the differents elements arrive:
00:00 Mellotron
00:12 TR-808
00:18 Minimoog
00:26 Waldorf Q
00:35 Mos-Lab 2500 (oscillator 2 on filter 1)
01:08 Mos-Lab 2500 (white noise on filter 2)
01:10 Roland Juno 60
Effect: Audiothingies Doctor A"

"Take 2, no editing, recorded directly to stereo out.

05.27.2025 Supernature for fun (Long version) - Take 1

video upload by batchas

Take 2 here

"I hesitated to make this one public because of all 'thumb down' enthusiasts, but no matter how, music is my therapy and it won't stop me having fun with my machines, without any stylistic boundaries.
Pretty sure I'll record one more take of this one, cause it's far to be perfect and it's a lot of fun to play. I was 14 in 1977 when the Cerrone 'Supernature' video clip came on TV. We had never seen something like this on french TV back then and as a kid I was pretty much impressed.
As usual, one take, no editing, recorded directly to stereo out.
The MIDI tracks play muSonics Minimoog, Roland Juno 60, TR-808, Waldorf Q, Waldorf Pulse+, Oberheim Matrix 1000 and one plugin, the Mellotron. Effect = Audiothingies Doctor A.
It's quite a long version cause I did loop the last measure and could not stop playing!"

Sequencer Art II

video upload by John L Rice

"Notes suggested by Alan: C, E, F, G, Bb, C, E, F

The Chladni app used on my iPad for the visuals mimics the nodal patterns that appear on surfaces when modulated at audio frequencies. This was pioneered by Robert Hooke in the late 1600's and by Ernst Chladni in the late 1700's.

Gear used:
Large format modular synth: Synth Tech, Moon Modular, Club Of The Knobs
Yamaha FS1R
Mellotron M4000D Rack
Roland A-88 keyboard controller
Strymon and Lexicon effects
