This one was spotted and sent in via
M Me.

"The sampler has been completely refurbished. The casing has been painted black. All tact switches have been replaced, the old LCD with a new LED and pad sensors. Additionally, I have installed the Gotek FDD emulator (32GB Sandisk pendrive included), the latest Vimana 3.15B OS, max RAM memory and multivoltage power supply. This means that it does not need step up or step down converters to work! The voltage switches automatically depending on the place in the world. It accepts AC voltage from 65 to 265V. This is probably the only such version in the world. I was going to replace the LCD window, as it has a few scratches, but I'll leave that to the new owner. The glass is available on eBay, and replacement is easy (double-sided tape). Insured shipment."

Custom Drawn Panel Black & Gold ARP Axxe Mk1

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this VEMIA listing

Click the auction link on top when you get there for additional listings.

VEMIA is Peter Forrest's auction house. He is the author of The A-Z of Analogue Synthesizer Books.

"You're looking at an original vintage Black and Gold-finished Mk I ARP AXXE. In nice working condition overall, only expect some crackling here and there. Look the unique cosmetics, since the panel's original paint has vanished, the modules and signal flow diagram have been distinctively hand-painted on gold by underground comic artist Angel Alvarez. A white overlay is also provided for more of a classic look (see last picture). It has electronics similar to the Odyssey, but the AXXE owns its unique timbral character and, while you can get the famous analog ARP tone, it could produce different sonic results including both powerful basses while being capable of real punchy and vibrating sizzly lines, still at a fraction of the cost of its sibiling [sic] and also keeps a couple of neat tricks under its sleeve, as you can appreciate watching this video [posted here]. A great bonus are the connections on the back allowing an external synth or signal to be processed, a control pedal input for the filter plus CV, Gate and Trigger inputs and outputs. [ Note: Buyer consents to provide any information needed if buying outside the EU trade bloc ]. Will be packed thoughtfully."

Minimoog with MIDI and Red Makeover

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this VEMIA listing

Click the auction link on top when you get there for additional listings.

VEMIA is Peter Forrest's auction house. He is the author of The A-Z of Analogue Synthesizer Books.

"Minimoog Model D with Kenton MIDI conversion > This minimoog has been recently serviced and plays very well. It has a Kenton MIDI conversion which allows it to be played over MIDI. The top panel is in good condition but the case has quite a few knocks, especially on the left side - see the photos. The origin of the red paint and red knobs is unknown but is a professional job. The case was obviously dismantled and painted inside and out. There are two non-standard silver knobs for the master tuning and Osc 2 tuning. These are 'vernier' knobs which allow for very fine tuning. They have 10 turns instead of the original knob's 1 turn.

The voltage plaque says 110V but it was converted a long time ago to UK /euro voltage with a UK plug.

In response to questions about this, all I can say about the modifications is that they were there when I bought it in around 1990 - I find the fine tuning knobs really useful. I don't have any internal photos but the guy that serviced it said that some circuit boards have been changed, I believe it has the later oscillator boards. VEMIA can collect and pack: 18GBP."

via this Reverb listing

"Newly restored Roland CR-5000

Knobs have been cleaner though and the case has been cleaned and refinished to get rid of yellowing. The original switches have been replaced with linear & silent keyboard switches and 3D printed keycaps.

The new switches are awesome and will easily last 40 more years. The case is missing some screws but is sturdy. The case has a stain shown on the right side of the drum machine. Everything works on this drum machine and it’s ready for a new home. Thanks!"

OB-XOne mkII - Oberhim OBX Expander Module in Custom Rack

video upload by Lackan

"My first version of the OBXone went on to save an Original 4VS OBX. But when I got a Rosen motherboard as part of a trade I thought I'd make a nicer one, 2U rackmount, with double sub oscillators and all the extras."

Looks like an SEM in rack form, but appears to be based an OBX voice board according to the description above. The OB-X filter is based on the 12db Lowpass disctrete SEM filter (it's missing the variable LP -> Notch -> HP knob), while the OB-Xa switched to Curtis based filters.

BAF 2025: Synthskinz Magnetic and Adhesive Skins

video upload by sonicstate

"At NAMM 2025, we caught up with Jeff from Synthskinz, who introduced us to their innovative skin designs for electronic music equipment. Having gained extensive experience in creating skins for DJ equipment, 12-Inch Skins decided to venture into the synth world through their sister company, *Synth Skins*. These skins cater to a wide range of gear, including groove boxes and synthesizers. Jeff explained how the skins provide both aesthetic and practical benefits, allowing you to write on them with a Sharpie, which can be easily cleaned with an alcohol rub.

The skins are available in various materials, including exotic and metallic options, and supported by certain magnetic applications for steel-bodied devices. A fixed design process is initially being offered, with potential customization for designers. Pricing starts at around $40, depending on material choices. The glowing and UV options add a unique touch to your gear.

Manually Sliced Case Installation for Elektron Digitakt and Digitone

video upload by LaVern Winston

via WinstonsWork

"Behold, Winston's 'Manually Sliced' case for the Elektron Digitakt and Digitone I and II generations. I've painstakingly designed this with the sole purpose of safely removing as much unnecessary space as possible from the factory Elektron enclosures. This design brings you a 1 inch reduction from the front of the device, a more ergonomic angle, and added ventilation for style and peace of mind. Stay tuned for 2 vastly different case designs on the horizon.

Note: this case is not intended for the Elektron Syntakt

Note on Elektron's Factory Warranty: I stress that you make your own determination when it comes to the warranty, and whether you would like to do this modification yourself. You assume responsibility for your device while carrying out this modification."

via this listing

"Great modded rhythm machine that gets some great sounds and beats that you can’t get from a regular Boss DR-110. Plugged it in to my guitar amp and phono jack and worked nicely. The only thing I can tell is a bit wonky is the power switch. There has been a few times I turned it on and it glitches but goes back when I turn it off and on again."

"Synchrodyne and Synchrodyne Expand, 2 modules and 4 ribbon cables. The expander is from the latest batch before it was discontinued. I painted the front panels with alcohol inks and used a high gloss varnish finish. I color coded the different sections of the module to make it easier for me to understand which jacks and knobs are related. The PLLs are blue, first oscillator is red, second oscillator is yellow, first filter is purple and pink, second filter is yellow, and the compressor is green."
