"Whispers From The Dark

A dark ambient soundscape built around the Synthux Academy Touch 2 (Bass Firmware).

A latched arpeggio from Touch 2 is looped in Pattern Keeper and slowed down and pitched down, creating a dark, mysterious drone underneath. The same arpeggio continues at regular speed, shaped in real time with the filter and modulators of Touch 2, creating an undulating melody of ever-changing rhythmic synth sounds.

The stereo signal then passes through Kinotone Ribbons, Chase Bliss Lossy, Alexander Pedals Forget Me Not and Eventide Space.

"Autumnal Drone

A dark ambient soundscape built around a latched arpeggio from the Synthux Academy Touch 2 (Bass Firmware).

I recorded the arpeggio with the Native Audio Pattern Keeper and slowed down its pitch and speed, turning the original pattern into a deep, mysterious and wavering background. The same arpeggio then runs at its regular speed on top, with the melody floating above the slower version.

For the final recording, the sound passes through Kinotone Ribbons, Chase Bliss Lossy, Alexander Pedals Forget Me Not and Eventide Space (Darkmatter).

The result is an 12-minute ambient track with a dark, slowly evolving atmosphere and subtle rhythmic elements — a fitting soundtrack for autumn.

"Digitone 2 and Analog 4 on a melancholic IDM-jam building the first track for my next album.

Digitone 2 used for pads (Swarmer machines) plus Tricera Chorus and reverb. The other tracks are used for drums and percussion.

Here Outbox 8 really shines, as you now can use the DN as synth, drum machine and external sequencer - and still go for hardware recordings.

Analog 4:
T1: Lead
T2: Bass
T3: Additional Pad
T4: Pluck

Will use the DN2 / A4 combo definitely more frequently.

Had severe issues with my BlueBox today, as no separate FX tracks were recorded, although the option was selected, so I added reverb and delay in Logic X Pro this time."

I had it on loan once I really liked the sound and expressiveness of it, but now I have my own. This is one of the earliest recordings, running through Eventide Blackhole or two."
