Visiting Boddika´s Studio in London

video upload by Thomann Synthesizers

"Al Green aka. Boddika and also one half of Instra:mental has been in this room for nearly 20 years. Green has been an influential producer and DJ throughout the UK dance/club scene for many years. From his work alongside childhood friend Damon as Instra:mental, his solo work and close affiliation with Swamp81, to a string of collaborations with Joy Orbison. These days he still occasionally writes and releases dance music but also works on sound design and music for other projects. He also offers tuition/recording/mixing services from his studio. Every piece of music he has been involved with has been recorded in this room. Today he is giving us a quick tour of his studio (The Zoo) in its most recent form."

INSTRUO HQ TOUR // a fantastical place of Eurorack, design, manufacturing, music studios & more!

video upload by DivKid

"Join us for a tour of the Instruo headquarters up in Glasgow, Scotland, UK. You learn how to caffeinate properly while you're at it.

It's an amazing place with music studios, subSine academy and band rooms all wrapped around the design, prototyping and manufacturing of Instruo products. This video was recorded as part of a larger multi day visit for some other 'activities' (top secret for now) so while the large part of the tour is shot at once on a quiet Sunday you'll see a few other clips from the days prior."

Rob Rosen Reveals His Ultimate Synth Collection

video upload by Anthony Marinelli Music

A look inside the Yamaha CS80, the 14th ever made Sequential Prophet-5, a Rev 1, and a Roland Juno-106, touching on some of the evolution of analog synthesis technology over the years.

"I hope you enjoy this rare opportunity to visit with my close friend Rob Rosen for a deep dive into his ultimate vintage synth collection. Together, we’ll see inside some of the rarest synthesizers of all-time and learn from this master technician how synthesizers have evolved, what makes them tick and why synthesizers make such cool sounds!

I consider Rob’s shop @Rosen Sound ground zero for anything relating to synthesizers. It’s also the biggest wonderland of vintage synths in perfect working order that you’ll ever see .

Rob is a self-taught technician and is now the world leader for repair, restoration, custom manufacturing and sales of vintage synthesizers. He’s also quite an accomplished musician programmer and keyboard player as well."

video upload by LFOstore

"What does heaven for sound designers and synth lovers look like? Welcome to Nick Klimenko's Synth Museum! Long-awaited dream is now true. Nick built a whole house near Moscow, which will be available to every synth enthusiast and serve as an office for LFO Store projects. The space can be used for composing, mixing, sound tweaking, re-amping midi notes and all possible needs.

It is worth noting that synthesizers have been a big part of film music for the recent 50 years. Just think of Vangelis and 'Blade Runner', John Carpenter and 'Halloween', Daft Punk and 'Tron' movies...

Hainbach Gave Away His Test Equipment - Exploring The New Tape and Test Equipment Studio in Porto

video upload by HAINBACH

"I gave away my test equipment (two palettes of it at least) and I am happy about that! Because it became the foundation of a new tape and test equipment studio that you too can record in now. It is situated at the non-profit association Sonoscopia in Porto, Portugal. Sonoscopia is a unique place run by musicians and sound artists. Every nook and cranny is filled with objects made by artists who did residencies there. It is truly one of the nicest places in experimental music I have found across the world.

I gave a workshop on how to use this equipment for music, and here is the short version of that. If you are interested in the full process and more knowledge, the unedited version is on my Patreon.

Eurorack Basic Walk Through - A Simple Guide To Understanding Modular Synthesis

video upload by JML

Interesting note at 9:45.

"A quick surface look at the world of modular Eurorack synthesis featuring my own 432HP skiff and how I use it. This is not a tutorial on how to use each module as much as it is a look at some of the very best modular has to offer (from a musical standpoint). Again, I am not a noise maker as much as I am a traditional musician and my rig is built to be played like a traditional keyboard like synthesizer, much less a "beep bop boop bop" randomized noise machine. The beautiful part about modular synthesis is everyone has different taste; this is my humble take on the fascinating and quite addictive world of "Euro-crack." How Bata Make's Electronic Music

video upload by Bata

"Going over my whole setup briefly. This is probably the most detailed studio tour/setup description I'll do unless I start a patreon or something and need extra videos. I don't mention a lot of the random gear like outboard compressors, EQs, etc just the things I'm most commonly using in my videos. If you have questions feel free to ask in the comments but I won't be writing very long replies so try to keep the questions simple."
