SUPERBOOTH 2024: Leaf Audio - Soundbox - Geophone Electro Acoustic Instruments
video upload by sonicstate
"Superbooth 2024 brought us some exciting new developments from Leaf Audio*, as *Manuel *introduced us to their latest advancements in contact microphones and sound design instruments. The classic *Soundbox has received an update with a new magnetic contact microphone that can be attached to any metal surface, now available for pre-sale through Exploding Shed with a 15% discount. The new contact microphone comes with two cables and a holder for versatile use, allowing for easy attachment to non-magnetic objects like branches or trees with the included rubber bands.
But the innovation doesn't stop there. Leaf Audio also introduced the *Geophone*, specialized in capturing super low frequencies for intense and deep sound design. Available in two versions, the Geophone offers a unique perspective for sound designers in fields like movie sound and game sound. With the ability to pick up low-end rumble and seismic vibrations, the Geophone adds a new dimension to sound design. Both versions come in a box with accessories for flexible mounting options.

Buchla 100 & eurorack system workshops.
"The Modular Synthesizer Ensemble consists of a fixed setup of 12 Modular Synthesizers and a repertoire of compositions written particularly for the ensemble.
The ensemble members are changing from project to project and will be introducing and guided by Gammon to present the musical outcome live as an ensemble. Furthermore the project offers the possibility to relate on the local sociocultural conditions and develop a individual format. The process of sound generation with the analog Modular Synthesizer can be experienced and created by by the participants themselves. Proceeding from the individual sound material we will experiment, invent, try out, improvise, interpret and compose. A simultaneous inventing and performing process of electronic music is emerging, with the aim to interpret compositions and present them live as an ensemble.
The Modular Synthesizer Ensemble enables a similar challenge to experienced musicians, modular enthusiasts or people with no previous knowledge because of its unique musical and social acoustic experience. The focus during this sensual and musical process is listening to each other and a collective ambition.

LeafAudio Microphonic Soundbox - Audio Demo
TheLeafAudio
Published on Aug 3, 2017
"Here's a first demo of our Microphonic Soundbox. It's ready and will be available as a DIY kit and ready made unit via www.exploding-shed.com
It is an acoustic instrument which I created 20 years ago and finally we made it public now to share it with you. 2 internal contact mics can be amplified (100x Gain) and mixed to the mono out as a line signal. If an external signal is inserted, mic 1 is switched off. Supercool for creating otherworldly sounds and ambiences, great for processing with hard- and software."
Creating a new acoustic synths label for these moving forward. No, guitars don't count. Guitar synths, however, do. :)

New LeafAudio NoiseFoc Experimental VCO Eurorack Module
LeafAudio - NoiseFoc (Euro) Demo
Published on May 1, 2017 TheLeafAudio
"NoiseFoc (Euro) is an experimental VCO with light control and power starving. Good for noise or non 1V/Oct stuff. It features 3 Oscillators: 2 controlled by potentiometers, 1 with a fix freq or light control. CV In, diode mixed Out, resistor mixed Out. It's also nice as a CV source (later in the video, the VCF was modulated by it's diode out).
The DIY kit will be available via www.exploding-shed.com or in the DIY workshops via www.leaf-audio.com"

Improvisation for Modular & Electric Piano
Published on Feb 15, 2017 rupertlally
"A short improvisation, using the sample and hold on the Harvestman Polivoks Modulator to provide some slowly changing pitch cv to 3 modules: Braids, Tides and the Leaf Audio NBTA, whose envelopes are slowly being triggered from the 4MS QCD. The mix is sent through the Intellijel Rainmaker and Clouds.
I'm improvising along with the modular using the Nord Electro 2."
