Minimal Audio Current 50 Atmospheric Arp Presets. Sound Demo

video upload by Anton Anru

✨ "Dreaming Motion" is a bank of 50 Arp Presets for Minimal Audio Current 2, combining warm analog-inspired sounds with soft and airy atmospheres.
The collection moves between retro synth character, subtle analog imperfections, dreamy textures, and spacious evolving arpeggios, giving the bank both nostalgic and modern sides.

📦 The download link: https://antonanru.sellfy.store/p/curr...
👤 The author of the soundset is Ilian.

🎛️ Each preset features 4 Macros for shaping the sound, while the Modwheel adds additional movement and expression.
The macros are a significant part of the soundset. They can change tone, stereo width, modulation depth and rate, noise level, distortion, detuning, space/echo/reverb, effects mix, envelope parameters, and others.
You may control them via MIDI controller, use them for automation, or map the macros to your DAW modulators like LFO, Shaper, and others.

📻 The patches are perfect for Electronica, Synthwave, Ambient, IDM, Downtempo, Melodic Techno, Chillout, and experimental electronic music.

🎹 All Arps are designed in either C Major or C Minor, following Current 2’s tonal Arp system. This makes the presets easy to use while keeping their harmonic character consistent. You can change the Scale in the lower right corner of the synthesizer to the one used in your track.

What happens when you modulate Clairaudient at audio-rates

video upload by Omri Cohen

"This is an experiment with the new Clairaudient VCO. I wanted to see how far I can take it by modulating its various parameters at audio-rates. These patches are quite minimal, but the results are very much interesting.

Voidcontrol MIDI Releases the Typhon Unofficial Assistant

Typhon Unofficial Assistant - Demo video upload by Voidcontrol MIDI

"Voidcontrol MIDI has released the Typhon Unofficial Assistant, a software controller and patch librarian for the Dreadbox Typhon.

It brings the Typhon's sound onto the screen, adds full DAW automation, and keeps a library of your patches on your computer. Because the Typhon shares its sound parameters over MIDI but not its patch storage or internal routing, this is an Assistant rather than a full editor: it focuses on live sound control and patch management.

Features:

Live control of every parameter the Typhon exposes over MIDI, laid out by section
One-click read of the current sound from the hardware
Full DAW automation with real automation lanes, not just MIDI learn
A 32-step sequencer that locks to DAW tempo or MIDI clock and plays the Typhon, with per-step gate, tie, velocity and gate length, plus global division, swing and probability
A lossless patch library with naming, categories, favorites, search, and single-file or full-bank import and export
Preset export to .typhonpr for use with Dreadbox's own Preset Manager
A standalone version for use without a DAW
Init and randomize
Resizable UI, 50 to 300 percent
Windows 10 and 11, as a VST3 plugin and a standalone app. Requires a MIDI connection to a Dreadbox Typhon on firmware 4.2 or later. Tested in Ableton, Bitwig, Cubase, Reaper, Studio One, and Waveform. A Mac version is under consideration.

Available now at voidcontrolmidi.com for $15.

Not affiliated with Dreadbox. 'Typhon' is a trademark of its respective owner."

The Legendary CS-80 Sound… Without the Price | Fabric Vintage CS

video upload by Autodafe

"The Yamaha CS-80 is one of the most legendary synthesizers ever made — a huge, expressive analog instrument that helped define some of the most iconic electronic and cinematic sounds of the late '70s and early '80s.

Unlike some of the other synths in this series, I've never owned a CS-80 — and considering its size, weight and price, that's probably not going to change anytime soon! 😄

AIR Music Tech Fabric Vintage CS is a modern interpretation of this classic performance-focused polysynth, designed to capture its rich, expressive character inside the Fabric environment.

Powered by AIR's Fabric multi-sample synthesis engine, it features two multi-sample oscillator layers plus a percussive layer, with independent filters, envelopes and LFOs, along with extensive modulation, an arpeggiator and a comprehensive effects section.

The sound library focuses on the kind of sounds you'd expect from this legendary instrument: expressive brass, evolving pads, swelling textures, cinematic leads and shimmering bell-like tones.

In this No Talking demo, I'll simply play through a selection of presets so you can hear what Fabric Vintage CS can do without interruptions.

🎧 No talking — just sounds.

Fabric Vintage CS is available for MPC Standalone, MPC Desktop and major DAWs.

Sound Is Colour – Finally a Synth for Musicians, not Engineers (Abyss II)

video upload by DAWESOME MUSIC

[Alternative ways of interfacing with a synth engines]

"'Klangfarbe' is not a metaphor, it is how our brains perceive sound. But if sound is colour, then why are most synths built like lab equipment?

Abyss II is built on a simple yet radical premise: a synth designed around how we actually experience sound. It keeps you in the flow rather than forcing you into abstract formulas. Just play with colours, as you would mess with paint.

Partials & Discrepancies | Laid-Back Jam with MPE + Unusable Engineering FX

video upload by Unusable Engineering

"A slow, fairly minimal jam that appeared at the end of a testing session while I was working on improvements across the Unusable Engineering full suite.

There are only three sounds.

The pulse / heartbeat-like rhythm comes from Logic’s Drum Synth, processed with Spectral Pressure Chamber and a static Frequency Guillotine setting used mainly for EQ shaping and stereo spread.

The main keyboard sound is Partials & Discrepancies. It is a four-slot patch built from very few partials, but with constant movement between the slot states. That runs through a stereo tremolo sequence in Binaural Modulator, subtle stepped movement from Frequency Guillotine, a slowly modulated Geometry Delay, and a similarly slow-moving Geometry Reverb.

The high drone comes from Curves & Membranes, using two currently unreleased features and some portamento movement. It runs through a slewing Frequency Guillotine sequence, a deeper modulated Geometry Delay, and another slow Geometry Reverb setting.

Partials & Discrepancies is being played from both a Moog Muse over regular MIDI and a ROLI Seaboard Rise 2 using MPE at the same time.

I have started liking this combination quite a lot. The regular keyboard gives you the predictable part of the performance, while the MPE controller can add pressure, slide, and more expressive movement on top of it without having to commit the whole patch to one playing style.

Truth be told, most of my testing sessions ends with something like this. It is a nice way to clear the head.

OktaDie — Organismic Touch Synth on iPad | Drone Demo, No Talking

video upload by Diego Capoccitti

Follow-up to this post.

"OktaDie is an 'organismic' synthesizer for iPad: eight touch-sensitive voices, a cross-modulation matrix, a dual modulated delay and an overdrive — with no keyboard, no scale and no quantisation anywhere in the signal path. No talking in this video: just hands on the glass. Everything you hear is OktaDie running standalone on iPad (AUv3 plugin versions included), played entirely on the eight pads — no MIDI keyboard, no sequencer, no external processing.

🎛️ ABOUT THE INSTRUMENT
The eight generators are closer to a vintage electric organ than to a VCO. TUNE moves each voice continuously across a huge untempered range, SHARP morphs the waveform from triangle to square, and the envelope shapes pitch and waveform as it moves instead of just opening a VCA after it. Voices work in four pairs and two groups, each pair picking its own modulation source — another pair, the Hyper LFO, or the instrument's own output. TOTAL FB feeds the post-distortion signal back in and turns the whole machine, delay and drive included, into one giant FM structure. Noise, bleed and drift are features here, not defects: it never produces exactly the same sound twice.

👆 PLAYED BY TOUCH
Eight multitouch pads replace the keyboard. Play with several fingers at once, slide sideways to glide from one pad to the next, press harder to open the envelope further — OktaDie reads the contact area of your fingertip, and Apple Pencil pressure where available.

📱 iOS VERSION (iPhone & iPad)
Standalone app + two AUv3 extensions: OktaDie as an instrument and OktaDie FX to run your own audio through the delay, drive and feedback loop. Works in AUM, GarageBand, Cubasis, Drambo and Logic for iPad.

💻 DESKTOP VERSION (Mac & Windows)
Available in AU, VST3 and AAX formats for all major DAWs. Presets are shared with the iOS version.

Unusable Engineering Slot Sequencers | How They Work

video upload by Unusable Engineering

"A walkthrough of the shared slot sequencer system added to all Unusable Engineering effects in version 1.3.0.

Depending on the plugin, the sequencer has four or eight slots. Each slot stores a different set of effect parameters, and the plugin can step or slew between those settings manually, using an internal clock, or in sync with the host.

This video covers:
editing and selecting slots
manual movement between settings
internal and host-clock stepping
Slew in free and clocked modes
copying and pasting slots
randomization
enabling and disabling slots
differences between individual plugins
and a bit of the philosophy behind it"

"Curves & Membranes has also gained a new oscillator mode called Node Mode.

The normal oscillator uses Bézier handles to shape its single-cycle waveform. In Node Mode those handles are replaced by vector points, which changes how the synth sounds and allows much deeper wave folding.

It gives the synth a noticeably more modern and aggressive side while still using the same one-oscillator architecture. Curves & Membranes also got a new Vel->Radius option, where incoming velocity can multiply the radius of its orbital modulators by up to 5x. That makes harder notes introduce more movement rather than just changing level or filter response.

There is also now a preset browser across the full lineup, along with some starting-point presets, version checking and a few smaller workflow and stability improvements.

The updates are free for existing owners and available through the account page: https://www.unusable.net/account/

The two freebies (Binaural Modulator and Cavitation Fractures) have also gotten updated with slot-sequencer, preset-system and some bug fixes.

The Andromeda I Could Never Afford | Fabric Vintage Andromeda

video upload by Autodafe

"The Alesis Andromeda A6 has always been one of my dream synthesizers — unfortunately, it was expensive when it was released, and it's definitely not getting any cheaper today!

I did get the chance to spend some time with a real Andromeda many years ago, when a friend and I produced a demo CD featuring some of its sounds. I still remember being seriously impressed by that huge, complex analog machine.

AIR Music Tech Fabric Vintage Andromeda brings the character of the Alesis Andromeda A6 into the Fabric environment using AIR's advanced multi-sample synthesis engine. It features two main multi-sample oscillators, a virtual analog sub oscillator, noise generator, extensive modulation, envelopes, arpeggiator and a comprehensive effects section.

In this No Talking demo, I'll simply play through a selection of presets and sounds so you can hear what Fabric Vintage Andromeda can do without interruptions.

External MIDI Amiga Synth? Wait, what?!

video upload by Jeremy Parker

"A few years ago I restored my childhood Amiga 500, and only recently found a way to use a soft synth, Aegis Sonix V2, with external MIDI control. I saw ‪@magicalsynthadventure3216‬ video on the topic a while back, and on a whim decided to revisit the idea of using my Amiga as a synth. Thanks to an Amibay.com forum thread, I learned that it's pretty easy to get Aegis Sonix V2 to respond to incoming MIDI, and so I was off to the races. Enjoy!

Update: An interesting side note is that Sonix was released in 1987 with a beta in 1986. That's 10 years earlier than Dave Smith's Seer Systems Reality, which was released in 1997. Seer Systems Reality is often credited as the world's first soft synth. Curious if the distinction was between an editor/interface for the existing Amiga sound chip vs. a self contained software synthesizer.

I asked Google AI just to see what it would say. Here it is:
