"Atmo composer for Reaktor with loops / sample masher and layering engine from Cycles & Spots. This is an instrument for Ambient / Experimental music productions / scoring. It layers three of the given 384 Wav loops that comes with it and reorders / scrambles / mashes them up , adds effects and sequences their volume levels over time. It can do all that also via the inbuilt randomizer for finished results or for fine tuning afterwards. Naturally you can build soundscapes from scratch with it, too. External sample Drag & Drop possible.
"MANNER is a MIDI sequencer that picks its own notes. As on a step sequencer, you set each part's rhythm; instead of placing pitches, you give it a key, a style and, if you like, the chords. It chooses the notes by the rules of harmony, voice leading and form, and plays them with a player's phrasing.
• Human manner. Timing drifts as a player's does; phrases slow down, speed up, and land back on the bar line; loudness follows the phrase.
• Song form. Sections of four phrases: an idea, its answer, a contrast and the return (A A′ B A″). Variation sets how far each section strays, from an 8-bar loop to a new variation every section; each part's Improv sets how often that part changes.
• Chords that go somewhere, toward a cadence and home. Pin the ones you want, or play it your chords: it follows what you hold, bass note included, and plays the rest.
• 4 parts (Bass, Chords, Arpeggio, Melody), each with its own rhythm and one of 27 styles, from Alberti to walking bass.
• A take is the seed for its random choices, not a stored piece: change any setting and the notes change; change nothing and it plays exactly the same notes, so a bounce matches what you heard.
• Drag the last 16 bars into your DAW as a MIDI clip.

"MICROPHONIC: in the early days of electronics, analog devices were made with vacuum tubes and performed everything from logic to output amplification. The first Theremins were made with vacuum tube technology-- it was all that was available. Vacuum tubes were everywhere and in everything. But they had a flaw: they were inconsistent to manufacture, expensive to maintain, took time to warm up, generated heat, and could burn out like a lightbulb. Eventually, the world went solid state. It was cheaper, easy to maintain, and lasted longer.
But something got lost. Inside of tube mechanics were red hot voltages. As it turned out, these voltages were also somehow musical to our ears. Once the world transitioned to solid state, people started to miss the "tube sound" which was simply imperfect in a perfect way.

The trick is working within the original synth’s limits. Match its oscillators, filters, envelopes and modulation options, and you start programming differently. Add unison detune and a little vintage character, and things get wonderfully wonky.

The developer’s idea is not so much to emulate the Machinedrum’s interface 1:1, but rather to create a more accessible and intuitive implementation of all the Machinedrum’s capabilities.
It’s all there for you to explore.
This magnificent idea will undoubtedly be well received. In fact, until now I hadn’t realized just how complete and powerful the Machinedrum is.

"This video is a quick showcase of the new modes and functionality added in the 8th of October 2026 update to the full Unusable Engineering range. All plugins (synths and effects) have gotten updates - but some have also gotten new modes, which is what I show in this video.
It is not going in depth on anything, if you wanna know more, I suggest you check the news post on unusable.net or the individual product pages.
So, this video… It is one of the first times I am using the Windows machine in a video. I was basically testing the installers and the plugins for bugs and decided to make this video, which is kind of a different release video to what I usually do on updates.
The main line is a sequence from the Keystep controller controlling the coming ‘Currents & Nostalgia’ synth with a simple keyboard sound.
The plugins with new modes or sound functions are activated and deactivated one by one in the following order:
Entropy Encoder - showing off the buffer repeat effect that is placed before the codec emulator.
Spectral Pressure Chamber - showing off the Resonance mode, basically changing the dynamics processing into tuned delay lines for a comb resonator effect.
Grain Discharge - showing off the new pitch modes - chromatic and pentatonic for more dense grain clouds.
Frequency Guillotine - showing off the new envelope follower connected to dry/wet balance.Harmonic Dissector - showing off the new wave folders in each filter section.
Synaptic Resonance - showing off the new plane length parameters that are available for both stim and read plane.
All plugins are updated to remember resize scaling for the instance and some other fixes and functional updates.

Computer and Arcade games were everywhere, and their brand-new graphics and enticing chirping sounds filled shopping malls with excited kids armed only with quarters to play. Eventually Ataris, Commodores, TRS-80's, Apple's, and eventually NES sold systems that allowed people to play video games at home with a console. It was an engineering marvel; how to write mostly monophonic music while still allowing sound effects-- like PLAYER JUMP-- and make it as realistic as possible on severely limited hardware.
We unleashed all of that 8-bit fury here.
TRASHBYTE is a flashback to SID technology, joysticks, and arcade soundtracks. Watch and listen as you move the green '3D' joystick between 4 oscillators to make brand new retro sounds, let it randomly move itself, or make trills to make fake drums. The oscillators are all bit accurate models, left with all the imperfections 8-bit would emphasize, and their sound is instantly familiar. If that's not enough, you can lower the fidelity to 1977 and crunch them through the entire circuit (cheap opamps included) wrestling for that tiny speaker's attention. Attach that to our 16-step sequencer and you can modulate the sound step by step or let it play along with you in sync. EZ button zaps you back with arcade sounds that are byte-accurate-- but you can play it polyphonically if you like. Let it wander while you hold a note and be transported right back to your childhood.
Don't worry, it won't cost you another quarter to power up!"

"A live demo of PolyArp in standalone mode with my Nord Stage 3 88, connected via MIDI.
I’m playing chords on the Nord, and PolyArp turns them into two arpeggio parts. The left-hand part uses a three-note chord in Up mode; the right-hand part uses a four-note chord in As Played mode. Both run at 1/16, but the patterns have different lengths, creating a polymetric feel.
PolyArp is a MIDI arpeggiator with two independent parts, each with its own rhythm, direction and octave range. It works standalone or as a plugin inside a compatible DAW, sending MIDI to hardware synths or software instruments.

A Personal History Of Sound Scanner and Soniccouture have collaborated to develop a custom tool to utilise his huge personal tape archive, documenting an entire sonic life and career.
Stripped back to the basics, Scanner: Library is a bold experiment in the power of layering sound. With such a diverse and characterful archive to draw upon, it was imperative that the interface would tread lightly.
Three modules with basic envelopes + filters, a delay unit and some custom reverbs. This setup gives over 10 million possible combinations of sounds gathered over a 40 year career.
Fragments, Loops & Possibilities Scanner: Library features 401 original recordings + a library of 200 presets to get you started. Robin designed over 100 presets himself.
Most of the audio was recovered from cassette tapes, and features the famous police scanner recordings, electronic improvisations, location audio, analogue experiments and all manner of sonic ephemera.
