Every sound optimized to perfection for immediate, out-of-the-box use.
The collection features modulated LEADS, deep modulated PADS, beautiful space PLUCKS, modular ARP sounds and ultra-elaborate SYNTH effects. These sounds fully exploit the unique capabilities of Memory V. Despite this, these patches also reveal the full power of this emulation – and you will get sounds similar to Blade Runner.

⚙️ Rusted Chaos is a bank of 50 presets + sequences for Arturia Pigments. The soundset's primary goal is to combine atmospheric and harsh, metallic sound. Inspiration came from natural phenomena and fossils, as well as mechanical sounds.
👁️‍🗨️ This experiment helped achieve harmonious chaos & strange sound. The presets offer various moods and colors: bright and soft, mild and aggressive, warm and cold, clean and noisy, melodic and FX-like.

"A closer look at the Discrepancies side of Partials & Discrepancies.

This is a more ad-lib walkthrough focused on what the discrepancy system actually is, what it does to a patch, and how it can be used either to add a bit of life and variation or to push things much further into chaos.

At the core of it, each voice gets its own randomized offset values for around 40 different parameters. Some of those have their own dedicated discrepancy controls, while others are grouped under broader macro-style controls. The result is that each voice can behave slightly differently, from small differences in tuning, filter, or position, up to much more obvious divergence.

The dice control generates a new set of random offsets, but those values are otherwise static and stay saved with the patch until you throw the dice again.

This video is really about understanding what the discrepancy system is, what happens when you push it, and how it can make patches feel more alive, more unstable, or just a bit less perfectly digital in a very digital synth.

"In this SonicLAB, we look into the @udo_audio UDO Audio DMNO, an 8-voice polyphonic binaural analog hybrid synthesizer with dynamic signal architecture.

The DMNO is sonically different from the Super Series, featuring a grittier, more aggressive sound. With dual synth engines, though each DMNO integrates the familiar Super DDS oscillators and custom wavetables and both support both stereo and binaural modes. With 8 voices total, when running two DMNOs in Binaural mode, in split or layer, that will reduce the voice count to 2.

The oscillators can cross mod and route with plenty of audio rate modulation , the LFO 1 also can run tracked and in Audio Rate mode too.

There's lots of configuration, routing and drive with the stereo analog filter, these have multiple modes, stereo, parallel and series routings with Frequency delta between each 'side' of the filters for some lovely formant and vowel like articulations.

Mod matrix has 7 slots plus two fixed routings for wheel and envelope velocity - perhaps the selection of source and destinations could be increased if the FPGA pathways allow for it, and it would be nice to see FX parameters as a destination at some point.

With EQ, Chorus and Drive per DMNO and a shared Delay/Reverb on send, there's some decent additional sound sculpting to be had.

Priced at £2,599, this synth gives an alternative to the other synths in the UDO range"

Ambient improvisation with Waldorf Microwave 1 (update V2.0, no talking, no effects)

"All sounds of this ambient improvisation are from the Waldorf Microwave 1 plugin, version 2.0. No external effects were used. The first sound is a pad in multimode with some LFO modulations on the filter. The second sound uses the new Poly Arp, followed by a bass patch. The patterns were recorded and looped using Ableton Live.

All patches, sounds, sequences and arrangements were made by a (cat assisted) human. No AI tools were used in the creation of the music, video and artwork.

"So after seeing Author and Punisher live earlier this year, I felt inspired to build my own drone machine.

These controllers consists of a 2lbs aluminum rod attached to a optical rotary encoder, while sitting atop thrust ball bearings. This encoder is then wired to an Ardunio Uno R3 measuring the RPM value along with it's rotational direction. I then used that data to control a synth patch I made in Max Msp 9 using the abl.drift and abl.roar objects along with two DMX controlled light panels using the Beam max package.

Technical Info – How to Import Presets
Open the Zebra plugin.
Go to the Presets tab.
On the left panel, find the User folder.
Drag and drop the folder the presets folder from your computer into the User folder inside Zebra.
Restart the plugin or refresh the presets list if needed.
The presets should now appear under User in the Zebra browser.
Make sure you are using the latest vst-plugin version.

I added drums and pads to the demo for musical context. They are not included in the soundset. The melodies/patterns are also not part of the collection—it contains only timbres/presets."

Today marks the release of our second synth, a multi-tap delay, a reverb and a free spatial modulator for both Mac and Windows as AU/VST3.

Partials & Discrepancies is an 8 voice additive poly-synth. The goal was to make additive synthesis accessible through a much simpler abstraction model than what you usually get, and include lots of sonic motion capabilities within a simple interface without modulation matrixes or multi page layouts. As always, we want to build instruments and effects that makes it fun to make music and that won’t slow down the creativity. Partials & Discrepancies is available for 79 euros incl. VAT. early tests with Buchla Lightning + Max; once again, using a Buchla controller as a way of testing different parametric linkages / interaction strategies for what i hope will eventually become a standalone instrument. in this case, lightning is sending several position-related CCs to Max, which is running several simultaneous [gen~] patches. these patches were originally developed for several daisy-based modules i designed, namely:

2x Impulse Generator (a pulsar synthesis-based oscillator and nonlinear distortion feedback device)
1x Retention Mechanism (a granular sampler / multitap delay / pitch shifter)
1x Temporal Drag Processor (a multitap delay / resonator)

i only recently acquired the Lightning; here, i'm using it with the rings from a Buchla 222e Multidimensional Kinesthetic Input Port. the use here is quite basic, relying mostly on the Lightning "Ear's to MAX" factory configuration. no doubt i'll keep exploring more unusual ways to use it in the future
