Expressive E Osmose + GS Music e7 | Analog MPE Ambient Performance

video upload by THOMAS KESSLER_music

"A five-minute improvised ambient performance exploring two different ways of combining the Expressive E Osmose with the GS Music e7.

In the first part, an internal Osmose sound is routed through the external audio input of the e7 and becomes part of its analog signal path.

In the second part, the Osmose takes over as an MPE controller, playing an expressive patch on the e7 analog polysynth.

No sequences, no backing tracks, no computer — everything is played live.

Setup / signal chain:
Expressive E Osmose
GS Music e7
Effectrode Tube Drive
Strymon El Capistan
Strymon Cloudburst

The e7 patch is designed as an expressive instrument rather than a conventional synth preset: velocity, pressure and continuous MPE control shape dynamics, timbre and articulation directly from the Osmose keyboard.

A spontaneous studio improvisation exploring the combination of expressive digital synthesis, analog synthesis, tape-style delay and ambient reverb.

Monster Man: Riding The Rails

video upload by John L Rice

"This started as just a sequencer experiment on my large 5U modular and eventually I tuned it into another low effort installment for my 'Monster Man' series [previuos post] since the vibe was mostly there.

Using two Moon Modular 569 sequencers in 4x8 mode I patched all 8 CV outputs into a Modcan Scanner 69B set to switch mode and patched the Scanner's mono output to a Modcan Quantizer 55B. An Oakley/Krisp1 Slim VCO is the master clock with a SSL V-Gates divider providing a divide by 8 pulse to switch the Scanner to move to the next sequencer row and also reset both sequencers to ensure synchronization. This created a 64 step sequence but unfortunately I didn't take the time to create a recognizable melody so it just sounds random! 🙄🤦‍♂️😅 The patch is still up, maybe I will work out a better demo?

The output of the quantizer goes to a somewhat basic voice: a Noise Engineering Cursus Iteritas Magnus VCO to a Grove Audio LP VCF to a Synthesizers.com VCA2++. A Marienberg Devices VC Envelope Generator modulates both the VCF and VCF with a Marienberg Sine Phase Oscillator modulating both the VCO and the EG.

I played an Expressive-E Osmose keyboard along with the sequencer track, and then later added a second Osmose track fir the very low notes that you might not be able to hear unless you have a sub woofer or very good headphones or monitors?

Everything went through my Allen & Heath MixWizard and used Strymon BigSky and timeline effects pedals and a Roland RSP-550 rack effects unit.

Thanks for watching, liking, and commenting! 😎💖🤗

Lost Painting from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - BARx Cover

"Stream/Download: https://ffm.to/lostpainting

My take on the beautifully wistful "Lost Painting" from Symphony of the Night. It's been a while since I made some straight-up Synthwave, thought this theme would be a perfect fit for that dreamy nostalgic vibe.

I used a new camera to shoot this video, really pleased with how it came out!

Hope you enjoy!

Osmose Eagan vs. CE comparison – Superbooth 2026

video upload by Let's Play Synths

"So I own the original Osmose – bought it used for slightly over 1000 € – and while it's fantastic, sounds very cinematic, dark (see this video [below] • 35 Expressive-E Osmose Presets – Let's Pla... ) and is nothing like any of my other synths … other than does have some problems. Nearly impossible to connect via MPE (especially over a single USB cable), very obscure settings and a sound engine that you need an engineer's degree to even start to understand. So when the CE was announced, I had a question or two 😁
