first patch Synthetic Sound Labs Ian Fritz Hypster 5U Modular Synth
video upload by I like the Chaos.
"The Hypster is getting rate cv from a Dotcom q119 sequencer and is Frequency modulating an Ian Fritz Teezer VCO. It is also providing cv to a Steiner Filter also from SSL. The Filter is also getting cv from the sequencer. From the Filter the audio goes to a Musonics VCA turned up with no cv. I had that patcher for future plans that aren't in this video. Then to a Manecolabs Clusterverb for reverb and delay.
Very simple patch but sounds great.
This is the 5u version. NLC Nonlinear Circuits did a Eurorack version."

Geo-Gruven from Synthetic Sound Labs
video upload by NOISEBUG
"The 2655 Geo-Gruvn is a six channel, 16 step Euclidean rhythm / gate sequencer for Eurorack modular synths in only 6 HP.
Geo-Gruvn is inspired by the brilliant efforts of Japanese designer Hagiwo, and produced by SSL with kind permission. SSL has also significantly enhanced the hardware and software leading to better performance and improved functionality.
Each of the six output channels allow adjustment of:
Hits – The number of outputs generated, with Euclidean spacing.
Offset – Changes the starting point for the Euclidean sequence.
Length – The number of steps for this channel before resetting.
Mute – Turns on/off all outputs of the selected channel.
A single rotary encoder allows uncomplicated selection of channels and functions with simple visual feedback provided by a bright blue OLED display.
In addition to its extensive Clock / Sequencing related duties, Geo-Gruvn can respond to Clock inputs well into the audio range, making it a convenient 6-channel frequency divider.
A Pattern Memory screen allows non-volatile storage for up to 8 pattern sequences.
The Geo-Gruvn features a bright OLED display, clock and reset inputs, 6 gate / trigger outputs, a rotary encoder for selecting functions, and an eight Pattern non-volatile memory. All inputs and outputs are standard 3.5mm phone jacks with an associated LED panel indicator.
Power is supplied by standard 10 pin Eurorack power header.

Synthetic Sound Labs - Soleil Lo-Fi String Synth
video upload by NOISEBUG
"Synthetic Sound Labs - Soleil Lo-Fi String Synth
The Soleil POD is a tiny low-cost Lo-Fi MIDI String Synth table-top box capable of playing 4 paraphonic notes.
Inspired by the early vintage string synths of the ‘70s such as the Elka Rhapsody and ARP Solina, the Soleil POD is a tiny low-cost Lo-Fi MIDI String Synth table-top box.
Capable of playing 4 paraphonic notes with 2 oscillator ranks per note. Waveforms are continuously variable from thick sawtooth thru variable pulse widths for more reedy sounds. The second rank is detunable for lush pads and honky-tonk riffs.
The Soleil contains built-in modulation / vibrato LFO, the depth of which can be controlled by MIDI. Attack and release envelope times are individually adjustable and share a single VCA making this a “paraphonic” instrument. A gate output jack allows convenient triggering of external effects and synth equipment, and its state is displayed by an LED.
MIDI is input via a 3.5mm TRS Type “A” jack, and responds to keyboard running status as well as pitch bend and modulation. An LED MIDI displays MIDI activity.
MIDI channel defaults to channel 1 but can be easily reset to other channels using a unique sequence from your controller keyboard at power-up, which is retained in non-volatile memory.
A fine tune control allows accurate tuning to other instruments, and an output volume control is provided. MIDI, Gate Out and Audio Out are standard 3.5mm (1/8”) jacks.

2/6/24 SSL 1660 The Matrix (x2) + Free State FX 103 LPG + STG MooSonics Vanilla Envelope + CXM 1978
video upload by Cfpp0
"Recently found a used Free State FX (FSFX) 103 Lopass Gate, so this is a first try, using the STG MooSonics Vanilla Envelope module to fire the LPG. One SSL 1660 goes into the LPG (the left SSL 1660, playing the bass line) and the other goes into the VCA on the Vanilla Envelope (the right SSL 1660, playing the higher, pluckier layer). So the same envelope affects both the LPG and VCA, but pretty differently. Vactrol!"

The Eternal Now
video upload by davidryle
"American Format (5U) modular synthesizer performance in real time to a stereo track in Cubase.
For an atonal wash I used the Dove Audio Waveplane and WTF vco's through an Oakley Sound Systems Ring Modulator. I then sent it through A dotcom Q150 transistor ladder filter and a Lower West Side Studio Multimode Filter/Resonator and on to a fixed filter bank and a Frequency Central Stasis Leak digital delay. This drone wash comes in at the final section and ending.
The opening reed sound and accompanying organ sounds were derived from the Synthetic Sound Labs/Mutable Instruments (Braids) Woven Spirits module.
The initial reed sound is from the AUX output of the Woven Spirits through an SSL/Ian Fritz 5 Pulser and Oakley Sound Systems State Variable Filter. The filter is stepped with a random S&H from JNP Electronics.
The secondary organ chord sound is the Main direct output of the Woven Spirits in Chord mode. The combination of both elements are sent to an Electro-Harmonix Grand Canyon in DMM mode. Feedback is applied as needed for the drone sustain throughout the piece.
The bass line comes in next with a pair of STG Soundlabs Oscillators through a Dove Audio D502 Multimode filter in -24dB LP mode. The pitch voltage is from the upper Q960 step sequencer. It's timing is from a Catgirl Synth Master Divider, clocked from a custom Dual LFO/Analog Shift Register of Ken Stone (Catgirl Synth) design. An additional tap from the STG oscillator through a Corsynth C103 Frequency Divider/Multiplier module for a sub-octave feed.
The melodic line blended into the latter section is from a pair of Q106 dotcom vco's which are pitch controlled by the lower Q960 sequencer. Each vco pitch is from a separate row of the Q960. The Q960's shift timing is from the CGS Master Divider module. The output is routed through an Empress Reverb pedal in Blue Ghost mode. Panning is from the LWSS/Yusynth Panning Mixer.
All pitch quantitization is through a Moon Modular 565 series setup.
Additional voltage modulation to the Woven Spirits module are from the STG Soundlabs voltage mini stores, and vaious LFO's etc. Timing for the additional sequencers is also managed by the Moster Divider."

Yes, He Lied, Just One More Test Of This Folding Modular Synth!
video upload by John L Rice
"The only sound source is the Dove Audio WTF oscillator and it’s being controlled by an SSL The Matrix sequencer, SSL Clock Divider, Free State FX Digital Utilities, and Martin Jan Koehler Tidal Modulator. The two outputs of the WTF each go to voicing patch consisting of a Happy Nerding Fun VCF, Free State FX Dual Trigger Processor, and one channel of a Grove Audio G714 Quad VCA. Reverb is from the Yamaha MG10XU mixing board."

SSL/YuSynth Clock Divider Module Works Better With Improved Power Supply
video upload by John L Rice
"I recently finished installing an internal PowerOne PSU to replace the two small external ones I had been using in this system and replaced the DotCom style power harness with an Analog Craftsman acBus distribution board. I had previously moved out the Synthetic Sound Labs / YuSynth clock divider because the The Matrix sequencer from SSL didn’t seem to work with it so I put the SSL V-Gates module in its place, but I missed the playability of the rotary selector switches so I tried it again and now it works! 🥳 Apparently the small MeanWell power bricks could supply enough current or high enough voltage for it to work? 🤷♂️
This was just a quick test to make sure it was working well. Besides the SSL divider and sequencer the other modules used are a Martin Jan Koehler Tidal Modulator (a 5U port of Mutable Instruments Tides), a Noise Engineering Basimilus Iteritas Magnus VCO, and a Digital Utilities module from Free State FX (a 5U port of Ornament and Crime module). Also the case is a modified Synthesizers.com Box11 and the right angle patch cables are from Tendrils Cables. (thanks Dan! 😎🥰)

The Vanishing Night
video upload by davidryle
"Good things happen in pairs sometimes...
Two new Synthetic Sound Labs 1201 TZ-VC Oscillators are the main project center. I sent the lower tuned sine wave (modulator) to the higher tuned (carrier) phase modulation input. I routed the modifier through a vca with a random S&H amount to give it a little life. The modulator was pitch tracked from one of a pair of Matrix Algorithmic Composer modules from SSL. The carrier was pitch stable. The wave of the carrier is a triangle wave through the Grove Audio G294A LPF. It is the final tuned percussive sound trailing at the end with the drone.
The other paired oscillators were the drone duet played by the STG Soundlabs vco's through a Q107 SVF in low pass. The pair of STG VMS sequencers are the pitch source.
The bass part is a trio of Mos-Lab 901's and an SSL 1200 vco. They are low pass filtered with the LWSS M401 Multimode Filter/Resonator. The upper Q960 step sequencer is the pitch source.
The opening synthetic pan drum sound is a Q106 saw wave and the square wave output of the second Matrix module run through the Oakley Ring Modulator and a Q150 LPF. The Q106 is pitch controlled by taking the Matrix cv through a quantizer and then a S&H to limit the cv range.
The second percussive voice was the PWM output of the modulator 1201 through a Mega Ohm Audio MA20 vcf in high pass then a EHX Grand Canyon reverb and finally stereo phase shifters from the Lexicon MX200.
Snare sound is the SSL Woven Spirits (MI Plaits) and the Kick is the Delptronics LDB-2e. Percussive timings are handled by the Moon Modular 563 Trigger Sequencer.
The drone loop arpeggio is the Dove Audio D900 Mu-Seq into a Q106 saw wave to an EHX Canyon pedal in multi-tapped delay mode."
