"The 'Pip Filter' is a compact 4HP voltage controlled 2 pole low-pass filter with resonance and built in VCA. Here we take a look at all the features of the module.

The filter cutoff is controlled via both knob control and dual CV inputs with a built in attenuverter. Resonance is manually controlled and will reach into self oscillation with rough V/Oct tracking. A trigger input allows the filter to be pinged for percussive plucked type sounds. Finally, a built in VCA (normalled open) allows for additional independent amplitude control of the filtered signal.

The “Pip Filter’ provides a classic lowpass filter sound in a small form factor with many useful features for sound sculpting."

"The 'Pip LFO' is a compact 4HP all analogue low frequency oscillator with a wide frequency range, voltage control, numerous outputs, reset input and a VCO mode. Here we take a look at all the features of the module.

The frequency of the Pip LFO is set via a manual control and voltage control input. The module features a unipolar square wave output along with both bipolar and uni-polar triangle, saw and sine waveform outputs. When VCO mode is activated, the frequency jumps to audio range and will track V/Oct for approx 5 octaves. A reset input allows the LFO waveform cycle to be reset and produces hard sync functionality in VCO mode.

The Pip LFO’s compact design makes it easy to add a modulation source and an analogue voice into any system."

Arp Of Darkness With Seventh Summoner in a small case ‪@FileTransferProtocol‬

"Playing around with the small case, today. Just wanted to showcase what could be done with an Arp of Darkness and a Seventh Summoner, side by side. Patch notes:

Pam’s Pro clocking everything. Seventh Summoner sequencing and real-time transposing a Braids (pluck program) running through Data Bender, and a MultiVersio on the LoFi program. A couple of Disting MK4’s are running the bass drone on one with an LFO on the other that is modulating a Pittsburgh Modular filter. That’s being sequenced by an Ornament & Crime running the Phaserville Suite. The Arp Of Darkness is arpeggiator a Dust Of Time (swarm program) and that’s running through a Busy Circuits MFX on the 2051 Bit Corrupter program and a stereo delay on another Disting MK4. Finally, there’s an Erica Synths Pico drum running some rhythmic duties and an EP-133 with the main drums off to the side."

ALM MUM M8 Now Available in VCV Rack

"The VCV MUM M8 brings our unique MUM M8 low pass filter into VCV. The MUM M8 is based on the 'switched capacitor' filter design used in the classic Akai S950 12 bit sampler with the addition of resonance, voltage control, clipped saturation and a dedicated VCA. Here we take a look at some patches showcasing the unique sound and features of the module.

The VCV version provides a realistic sounding emulation of the hardware module’s features with the addition of an optional clock noise setting producing increased bleed like a poorly calibrated hardware MUM M8.

The original motivation for the MUM M8 came from discussing filters in classic samplers with the artist Jack Adams – aka Mumdance. Jack suggested investigating the S950’s filter well known for its use in classic early jungle and hardcore. From that point onward Jack provided inspiration, help and feedback in the development of the filter. Big up Mumdance."

MCO AEIOU - Voice Synthesis

It offers a broad collection of unique, high-quality synth voices, each with extensive, customizable parameters. Here we explore a few patches using the new AEIOU voice synthesizer engine. The AEIOU voice is a vocal synthesis engine that uses band pass filters to mimic the formants of a human voice for a range of phonemes. Morphing between the two phoneme parameters using LFOs, the built in envelope or external modulation can produce any sound from robotic whisper textures, to background chatter, to simple pronounced words.

The MCO is designed to be familiar, quick and easy to use with a high resolution colour display and a rich visual user interface. Each voice includes extensive customizable parameters that can be directly controlled or modulated through assignable internal and external sources. Certain per-voice parameters support audio-rate modulation, including FM, sync, and DSP. Each voice also supports up to four-voice chords, external-triggered envelopes, multiple LFOs, and dual audio outputs for comprehensive desktop like synth functionality.

"5/20/25 Metasonix RK10 & RK7 & RK2 & RK6 + MFB AHDSR + Doepfer 183-2 + ALM Pamela’s anew Workout + DeltaLab Effectron II + Alesis MIDIVERB II

The Metasonix RK10 sequencer CV output is modulating the Metasonix RK7 Thyratron VCO and the Metasonix RK6 filter, with no audio input, but with resonance at the threshold of self-oscillation. Both the RK7 and the RK6 run through the Animodule MixMan into the Metasonix RK2 VCA (horsecock). One of the RK2 outputs runs through a 2hp Trim into the DeltaLab Effectron II into the Mackie Onyx 1640 mixer, panned a bit left, with reverb from the Alesis MIDIVERB II. The other RK2 output runs through a 2hp Trim to the Mackie, with the same reverb. The RK10 is clocked by ALM Pamela’s New Workout, boosted by the Doepfer 183-2. Pamela’s is also driving the MFB dual AHDSR, which is controlling the RK2."

MFX PhysiVerbs - Pocket PL8 & Slinky Reverb Plugins

"‘MFX PhysiVerbs’ is our second pair of reverb plugins, the ‘Pocket PL8’ and ‘Slinky Reverb’ effects, ported from our popular multi effect MFX module and pedal as plugins for use in your favourite DAW.

Both plugins use enhanced DSP code from the MFX hardware with a clean, simple and expanded user interface.

The 'Pocket PL8' produces a dense metallic reverberation based on early digital reverb algorithms. It offers all the magic of a massive aluminium plate whilst remaining small enough to fit in your pocket (or your downloads folder). The Slinky Reverb produces a distinctive boingy and dub-style echo/reverb tail loosely modelled on a spring reverb, where audio is passed through coiled metal springs.

"The mmMidi is a simple & compact MIDI interface for your Eurorack synthesiser. It translates two independent channels of MIDI note, velocity and gate information to corresponding control voltage signals via either a classic MIDI DIN type connection or as a driverless USB MIDI device.

Here we take a look at how to configure the mmMidi's 3 channels for use with a hardware sequencer. This configuration works the same for USB MIDI as well as the original (USB-less) mmMidi.

The mmMidi also converts MIDI Clock to analog x24 fixed clock and run outputs (i.e DIN Sync). The optional mmT expander provides a third MIDI channel of 8 key mapped gate outputs.

Requiring minimal configuration and a pain free set up, the mmMidi makes it easy to sync Pam’s clock to your DAW, control multiple synth voices, and trigger drum or sample modules with the optional mmT expander. SEED - Ambient Modular #3 // Arbhar, Analog Four mkii

"Third piece with Instruo Arbhar. In this case I have created with Kontakt six chord samples with Olafur Arnalds' Chamber Evolutions, which have a lot of movement simply by sustaining a chord. It is two tracks overlapping, one with the Evos and one with the waves.
The idea was to make several parts going from one chord to another, or with a slow scan recreate the chord sequence, but finally by exploring only one of the samples I created this. It was not necessary to use more. The possibilities of this module are incredible. In this audio, Pamela's New Workout is very important. It is sending a pentatonic sequence to the 1v/oct input of the Arbhar and is what creates the melody.

There is a fairly subtle lead with the Analog Four mkii that contrasts quite well with the orchestral samples in my opinion.
I have called this piece Seed because these days the germ of an album idea has emerged... Let's see where it takes me. Thanks you for passing by!

edit: In the video I mention that the reverb is the internal from Arbhar but that is not the case. The Arbhar goes through the Analog Four external inputs and the reverb is added there."

The most incredible drone synth ever played | Vhikk X by FORGE TME

"Exploring the most remarkable, evocative hardware drone/synth voice I've played in memory.

Don't let the patch points and eurorack format fool you: the Vhikk X is a mostly standalone drone and synth voice that has oscillators, filter, and effects, and outputs at line level if you want it. The only thing it's really missing is a modulation source, which can be your fingers turning the knobs or, here, the Pamela's New Workout. I think Vhikk X and Pam's in a 32hp case would be the most interesting and unique drone synth I've ever heard, period. And then you can patch v/oct CV in, like with a Keystep, and play it like a mono synth!

This is a series of explorations on the Vhikk X, to show you the range of sounds it can produce. The Vhikk X is known for brutal or crushing sounds, but I think it has a lot of subtlety and beauty throughout it, and I've tried to show that here. Hopefully you agree.

I'm planning on turning the last patch into some sort of live performance with a bit of extra synth, so hopefully that will be up soon. For now, I hope this gives you an idea of why I'm so blown away by the Vhikk X.

Recorded to a stereo output with no additional audio processing."

In this fourth iteration of the Deep Dive series we take a look multiple techniques for working with break beats including BPM syncing loops, slicing and sequencing and half speed timestretching using the new Pitch parameter.

The CV output on the right SSL 1660 is patched to the S-1000 pulser. The Corsynth VCLFO is patched to the S-1000 filter CV. The audio output of the right 1660 runs through the MegaOhm CdS VCF/A lopass gate. ALM Pamela’s New Workout clocks the left 1660 and triggers the S-1000 and the left 1660 gate output clocks the right 1660."

Motto Akemie for iPad - Syncing via AUM

Here we take a look at MIDI syncing the Motto by running it as an AUv3 plug-in inside of AUM, the popular multitracking mixer app. With this method, the Motto Akemie can be easily synchronised with other music apps, plugins or hardware gear as well as directly recorded, all from the iPad!
