Motto Akemie for iPad
video upload by ALM TV
"Motto Akemie, our 6 Voice FM drum synth and step sequencer is now available for iPad on the app store for on-the-go multitouch FM beat making!
The iPad standalone version mirrors the desktop version’s features and includes an additional iPad specific preset manager. It will also function as a AUv3 instrument plug-in. Available for purchase on the iPad app store here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/motto-a...
Each voice of the Motto Akemie is inspired by our renowned ‘Akemie’s Taiko‘ eurorack module featuring similar controls and playful FM sounds from pure sinusoidal oscillations to mega clonks to chaotic self-feedbacking enveloped noise.
The built in multitrack step sequencer allows for quick polyrhythmic pattern creation with step modulation of all parameters, randomisation and Pam style scaling across storable pattern banks and presets.

Now on iPad!: Motto Akemie (Akemie’s Taiko Eurorack) // Walkthrough & Review
video upload by Gavinski’s Tutorials
"This video is a walkthrough and review of the Motto Akemie plugin by ALM Busy Circuits. This came out for desktop some months ago, and was released as a standalone app and AUv3 plugin for iPad a few days ago, and is based on the highly-regarded Akemie's Taiko Eurorack module. I really like it, but some things about it frustrate me, and I discuss all this in the video. I hope you find it useful both in helping you decide whether this app is right for you, and in learning how the app works. Enjoy, and subscribe and hit the bell if you are interested in music production apps, I cover apps available on iPad, many of which are also available on desktop."

ALM Busy Circuits MCO MkII | The ultimate compact modular voice?
video upload by Tom Churchill
"The MCO MkII from ALM Busy Circuits is a new version of the compact digital oscillator originally released back in 2018. But it’s so much more powerful that the ‘MkII’ tag doesn’t really do it justice.
The original MCO is a great-sounding digital wavetable oscillator. The MkII adapts this sound engine and adds six more, along with an internal envelope, VCA, three LFOs, chord modes and user presets. This all means that it can operate as a complete voice while still only taking up 6HP.
In this video, I explore each of the synth engines in context with some musical patches. Big thanks to ALM for sponsoring this video and sending me the unit ahead of release."

7. MCO Oomph – Bass & Drum Synthesis
8. MCO SID GUTS – SID Chip Emulation
"The MCO (mk II) is a highly versatile digital VCO and voice module inspired by 90s/00s digital synths shrunk into just 6HP. Here we take a look at its features using the DigiWave wavetable oscillator voice. The MCO is in stock and available now from all ALM stockists worldwide!
The MCO offers a broad collection of unique, high-quality synth voices, each with extensive, customizable parameters. These parameters can be directly controlled or modulated through assignable internal and external sources. Certain per-voice parameters support audio-rate modulation, including FM, sync, and DSP. Each voice also supports up to four-voice chords, external-triggered envelopes, multiple LFOs, and dual audio outputs for comprehensive desktop like synth functionality.
Voices include a multi dimensional wavetable oscillator based on the original MCO, a complex additive synthesis engine, a multi mode ’JP’ type digi-synth with super saws and more, a fully featured vocoder, a lush virtual analog implementation, a bass synth for both kicks and sub sonic tones and finally a rebirth and porting of our discontinued SID GUTs chip voice.
The MCO is designed to be familiar, quick and easy to use with a high resolution colour display and a rich visual user interface."

minimalism for modular #4: sample + hold + phase
video upload by Electrum Modular
"Tiny changes over time are essential to minimalist (and ambient) pieces. This video demonstrates how to create gradually evolving sequences with a sequencer and a “sample and hold” that are NOT perfectly synchronized. Any sequencer and “sample and hold” will work! Detailed patch notes included.

ALM Turismo - Stereo Voice Ambient Patch
video upload by ALM TV
See the announcement post here.
"Performing a multi-voice ambient patch with the brand new Turismo. Here the TAZM-O and Osc A of the CIZZLE are used to create a plucky true stereo synth voice with resonant swells on top made from the Osc B of the CIZZLE - see below for more detailed patch notes. The Turismo is in stock and available now from all ALM stockists worldwide.
The Turismo is our fully modern Eurorack modular workstation, blending a curated mix of our flagship analog and digital modules for a versatile and creative patching experience. It offers a distinctive ALM character, designed for both precision and fun.
The workstation delivers everything from analog bass, bleeps and leads, lush chords, filtering, extensive sampling, and DSP effects combined with various sequencing styles and numerous modulation options plus full MIDI integration. It’s an all-in-one creative hub that’s endlessly explorable.
Designed also with live performance in mind, the travel-sized 84hp system fits in a rucksack and comes with a Decksaver cover for added protection. With MIDI, stereo line-level input, and headphone output, it’s perfect for live sets, DAWless jamming, and seamless studio integration. The system features a custom design with unique coloured controls and neodyme bronze anodized side panels.
The Turismo is a perfect starting point for Eurorack beginners, offering a seamless pain-free entry into modern modular synthesis that’s immediately playable. For seasoned users, it’s a ready-to-use and well balanced cutting edge system designed for effortless creative exploration.
Patch notes:
The TAZM-O and Osc A of the CIZZLE are used to create a true stereo synth voice with each oscillator patched through one side of the MCFx2. The 2 filters are linked to work in stereo, both responding to the same envelope modulation triggered by the ASQ-1. A second lead voice made with Osc B of the CIZZLE produces powerful CZ style resonant swells on top of the fast sequence and is sent through the MFX for long modulated echoes.
The stereo voice is uniquely sequenced in combination by a short step sequence from the Quaid Megaslope and a slow looped random from Pamela's PRO Workout, the 2 voltage sources are mixed with the MEGA MILTON and patched through the quantiser section of the ASQ-1 to be locked to a musical scale. In multiple places, additional triggered envelopes are provided by the Pam PRO using its special 'Trig' modifiers to allow the selected wave shape to be triggered by the ASQ-1. This is a great way to get more envelopes if Quaid and Pip Slope are both already used up.
Thanks for watching!"

MFX Echos - Digi-PCM & Tape-Tech Echo Plugins
video upload by ALM TV
"‘MFX Echos’ is a pair of digital and analog inspired echos, the Digi-PCM and Tape-Tech Echo, ported from our popular multi effect MFX module and pedal as plugins for use in your favourite DAW.
Both plugins run the same DSP code from the MFX hardware with a clean, simple and expanded user interface. The ‘Digi-PCM Echo’ is an unapologetically digital delay inspired by early digital rack delays. The ‘Tape-Tech Echo’ is an analog tape style delay with a lo-fi pitch shifter bolted on and expanded control over play heads.
In this video we take a quick look at the Digi-PCM Echo and Tape-Tech Echo processing our Motto Akemie FM Drum Plugin.
The 'MFX Echos' are available now as a pair to download for $10 on both macOS and Windows.

Minimalism for Modular #2: Ann Southam's "Rivers"
video upload by Electrum Modular
"I’ve been playing Ann Southam’s exquisite pieces on the piano for a few months, and have been discovering lots of ideas in them that could be applied to a modular system.
This video is also a tribute to a composer who should be a household name like Steve Reich, Philip Glass, and Terry Riley.

Putting synths and drum machines through the MFX Pedal from ALM Busy Circuits
video upload by Tom Churchill
"The MFX Pedal from ALM Busy Circuits is a standalone version of the MFX Eurorack multi-effects module, and it’s designed to work with guitars as well as line-level sources. I’m definitely not a guitarist, but I do have a few synths and drum machines in my studio, so for this video I thought it might be fun to try putting them through it. I don’t go through all 18 programs or demonstrate every parameter, but I pick six of my favourite effects and offer some real-world examples that hopefully show off some of its range. Thanks to ALM for sending it over!"

Switches (Eurorack sequencing without sequencers)
video upload by Electrum Modular
"A sequential switch is an essential utility for modular music-making. But Disting EX's multi-switch offers up to SIX switches that can be configured in multiple ways: bidrectional, sequential, random, ping-pong, etc. And each switch is essentially a double switch: it can alternate its inputs AND outputs. Best of all, these sequences can work separately but they can also work together, sharing the same inputs and outputs. Or you could create nested switches.
Here's an experiment with sending three switches to the same output, to create a longer melodic sequence.

Inverted echoes (a modular patch idea)
video upload by Electrum Modular
"The aim here – besides trying out the TSNM as an expressive keyboard – was to generate an inverted echo, so that a descending melody comes back as an ascending one, or vice versa. (I stole this idea from Bach, who often used contrapuntal inversion, playing the theme “upside-down”).
Mutable Instruments’ Beads (in delay mode) is perfect for this, but any module with a long delay would work. The other crucial ingredient is a multi-channel mixer/attenuverter such as Make Noise Maths (here, I’m using Acid Rain’s Junction).
