2/15/26 ARP 1613 + Roland System 100m + Alesis MIDIVERB II + CXM 1978

video upload by Cfpp0

"We recently traded an ARP 1623 for a freshly serviced 1613 and this video was a first test. ARP 1613 Quantized output A controls one Roland 110 VCO and quantized output B controls another. Gate Bus 1 controls a 140 envelope, which controls both 110 VCAs. The ARP 1613 also modulates the 110 VCFs, as do two LFOs. Anyways, I like the look of the ARP 1623 much better, but the Roland System 100m won the post-Pandemic format wars here and the 1613 looks most excellent with the 100m. Plus the big wooden end cheeks on the 1613 allow you to position the 1613 vertically (if you’re careful). Last year we got a great deal on a 182 sequencer for the 100m, with another 191j and another 150, so now we have six 191j cabinets (actually, one is by e-licktronic). They’ve been stacked in two sets of three and are topped with two ARP 1613 sequencers. It’s pretty luxurious. Or, as YLF says, Imperial.

We also moved the Blueberry 5200 (two clones of the ARP 2600 Blue Marvin by Behringer) and two DeltaLab Effectron II BBD delays next to the System 100m and 1613s, creating another angle in the octagon. A Mazzatron Eurorack patch bay interfaces the Effectron II delays and connects the wing to the Addac x911 bays."

1/25/26 York TT4 & rBPF + Zerosum 5654 + MFB OSC-3 ADSR LFO + Ladik S-143 + OAM Time Machine +

video upload by Cfpp0

"1/25/26 Zerosum Inertia 5654 + MFB OSC-3 & dual ADSR & dual LFO + York Modular TT4 & rBPF + OAM Time Machine + Ladik S-143 + ALM Pamela’s New Workout + Alesis MIDIVERB II + Peavey 1300 + Paia 6740 + CXM 1978

We got some resonant filters by York Modular and this was a first test. The Ladik S-143 sequences the MFB OSC-3. The MFB oscillators 1 and 2 run through the TT4 into the right side of the Zerosum Inertia 5654 dual VCA, which is modulated by the MFB dual ADSR, and then through the OAM Time Machine. Oscillator 3 runs through the rBPF into the left side of the 5654, modulated by the MFB dual LFO and dual ADSR, and then through the Peavey 1300 delay (panned left). All of the signals have reversed reverb from the Alesis MIDIVERB II, spring reverb from the Paia 6740, and stereo reverb from the CXM 1978."

1/17/26 Buchla + Eardrill + JRB + Synthetic Sound Labs + Peavey DDL-3 + CXM 1978

video upload by Cfpp0

"1/17/26 Buchla 258 & 244 & 281 292 + Eardrill Morphun + Synthetic Sound Labs 3650 + JRB VCBF + Peavey DDL-3 + CXM 1978

The Eardrill Morphun is sequencing the Buchla 258d sine/square wave oscillator. I’m playing the Synthetic Sound Labs 3650 manually to control the pitch of the 258d sine/saw wave. Eventually I insert a cycle from the 281 into the Morphun reset jack, which randomizes and disrupts the sequential loop. The sine/saw VCO runs through the 292r, with the gated sine/saw signal panned center on the Mackie Onyx 1640 mixer, while the gated sine/square signal runs through the JRB VCBF filter, modulated by the 281, then through the 292 into the Peavey DDL-3 delay, with the direct output panned slightly right on the Mackie and the delayed output panned left. All three signals have some stereo reverb blended on the CXM 1978."

1/16/26 (first patch) Lorre Mill Double Knot v2 + Roland RE-301 + Alesis MIDIVERB II + CXM 1978

video upload by Cfpp0

"We just got this used. It’s heavier than expected, and the recycled plastic surface has a nice texture. With no labels or logos it will take some time to memorize how to operate it, but here’s a first attempt—some quasi-Buchla based on the quick-start patch in the manual. The Double Knot is panned center, with a reversed reverb from the Alesis MIDIVERB II panned a bit right, the Roland RE-301 tape echo panned a bit left, and a stereo reverb on all of them from the CXM 1978."

12/28/25 ARP 1623 + ElectroComp EML 200 + Peavey DDL-3 + CXM 1978

video upload by Cfpp0

"I think this is the first time I sequenced the EML 200 with the ARP 1623. The sequencer is 1 volt per octave and the synthesizer is 1.2 volts per octave, but it still works. Here the gate bus 1 on the ARP is triggering the envelope on the EML, which controls the VCA both VCOs are running through. That signal then runs through the EML spring reverb into the Peavey DDL-3 delay to the Mackie Onyx 1640 mixer, where the dry is panned left and the wet is panned center. Both have stereo reverb blended on the CXM 1978."

11/12/25 Roland (RYK) System 100m & RE-301 + Peavey 1300 + Alesis MIDIVERB II + Paia 6740 + CXM 1978

video upload by Cfpp0

"The left RYK Modular 185 sequencer is gating the right RYK 185. The right RYK 185 CV output controls the pitch of the left Roland 110 VCO and modulates the right 110 VCA. The 140 lower envelope controls the left 110 VCA. The upper 140 envelope controls the right 110 VCA. The left RYK 185 gate output is modulating the 140 LFO, and that LFO is modulating the left 110 filter and the right 110 VCO slightly. The 150 LFO is modulating the right 110 filter and the left 110 VCA. The left 110 audio output goes to the Roland RE-301 for tape echo, with the intensity set at the threshold of feeding back, and that signal is panned left on the Mackie Onyx 1640, with spring reverb from the Paia 6740, stereo reverb from the Alesis MIDIVERB II (preset 27), and a larger stereo reverb blended on the CXM 1978. The right 110 audio output goes to the Peavey 1300 delay and is panned center on the Mackie, with the same three reverbs."

10/12/25 Roland SH-101 + Peavey 1310 + Yamaha EM-100 + CXM 1978

video upload by Cfpp0

"Transposing a sequence on the Roland SH-101, with it’s audio output running though a Peavey 1310 delay, with one output panned center in the Yamaha EM-100 mixer, with the EM-100 internal spring reverb. The other 1310 output runs through another Peavey 1310 delay, which also runs through the EM-100, panned left, with spring reverb and a hotter impedance. There is also a little bit of stereo reverb blended on the CXM 1978.

9/28/25 (bird) ElectroComp EML 400/401 + Paia 6740 + DeltaLab Effectron II + MIDIVERB II + CXM 1978

video upload by Cfpp0

"Some stringy flutes. The 16 steps on the right side of the ElectroComp EML 400 are producing V4, which is controlling the envelope decay on the EML 401. I’m resetting that loop throughout the video, to change the accents and envelope. The 16 steps on the left side of the 400 are producing V3, which is controlling the 401 filter (in high pass mode). The 400 sequence is being clocked by ALM Pamela’s New Workout, with a division of 140bpm. The 401 output hits the DeltaLab Effectron II delay hard and overloads the limiter. The delay goes from the Effectron II to the Mackie Onyx 1640, with spring reverb from the Paia 6740, gated stereo reverb from the Alesis MIDIVERB II, and pitchy downsampled stereo reverb blended on the CXM 1978. The bird was racing our ferry and won."

"For better or worse, we got into 4U Buchla format when we purchased the ZIMM system from Zerosum Inertia last year. And that purchase perfectly coincided with us liquidating the massive Tokyo Tape Music Center Buchla TTMC 100 eurorack system and TipTop Audio & Buchla 200 Eurorack system we had amassed over the years. One of the modules I missed was the handy 106 mixer. We had one by TTMC and one by Catalyst Audio. So we just got this Ebolatone CP-3 Moog mixer in Buchla format. This video was supposed to be a test of that mixer, but I got sidetracked."

"2/27/25 (new 5U) SSL 1660 + Blue Lantern Mixer/VCA/Decay + Zerosum Inertia Scorpion Tail + CXM 1978

This was a test of the new Blue Lantern Mixer/VCA/Decay module that was just released in 5U Moog Synthesizers.com American Format. The Synthetic Sound Labs 1660 audio output goes through the Zerosum Inertia Scorpion Tail, for some waveform defects and saturation, then into channel one on the Blue Lantern. The SSL 1660 gate output is triggering the Blue Lantern VCA. The VCA output goes to the Mackie Onyx 1640 with reverb blended on the CXM 1978. As you can hear there is white noise that can be blended in with the mixed signals. And the “Spectral” switch I’m flipping really sounds great!"

2/19/25 Zerosum Inertia Voltage Controlled Annihilation + Roland System 100m + CXM 1978

video upload by Cfpp0

"We sold the Roland System 100 Model 102 synthesizer, the Moog Labyrinth, the Seeburg Rhythm Prince, and a few other things recently, so there a few interesting pieces coming in, like this Zerosum Inertia Voltage Controlled Annihilation. We normally purchase Zerosum Inertia products brand new unless they’re discontinued, but this used purchase supported an animal in need. Anyways, this was a first test, mostly just to hear it sizzle and fry, using a Lana 212 VCO through a Roland 121 VCF into the Zerosum VCA, with a Roland 140 envelope driving the VCA CV."

11/14/24 Metasonix D-2000 + MFB SEQ-1 + Waveform LPG + CXM 1978

video upload by Cfpp0

"The Metasonix D-2000 has individual outputs for each drum voice, but it also has a mono output with an 'IT’S TORTURE' knob. When you use this mono output there is serial interaction between the voices, which is part of what makes this drum machine magical. But you also get power supply whine. I like it. For this patch the whine and squeal is gated by a passive Waveform LPG driven by Pamela’s New Workout, which is also clocking the MFB SEQ-1 playing back the trigger patterns. And reverb blended on the CXM 1978."
