http://www.synthparts.com also have some ARP Sliders
ReplyDeletelol! Reed should be forgiven now.
ReplyDeletekevin is a good egg
ReplyDeleteWait, that's somebody's Buchla 200e system?!
ReplyDeleteWhat did it cost? $50,000?
I think it's Evergreen State College? They recently go a new 200e in addition to their old system. I could be wrong.
ReplyDeleteindeed you are wrong
ReplyDeletesynthparts.com is synth dealer Doug Terrebonne, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteReed is definitely forgiven. :)
ReplyDeleteHowever, now the sliders are billed as Arp sliders and the same sliders for Buchlas at 3 times the price. ;-)
Just kidding.
We're running out of 'em fast though.
PS: those are original 200 modules on top if I'm not mistaken.
The bottom stuff is 200e, but most stuff appears to be vintage in that pic.
Instead of a 200e, I am getting:
ReplyDeleteKawai Eiwi wind controller
Muse Receptor Pro
Eventided H8000fw
Korg Oasys 88k
> indeed you are wrong
ReplyDeleteThanks for being vague.
sorry synthbaron, thats NOT the evergreen system. its reeds system.. as has been stated several times now.
ReplyDeleteHowever, yes Evergreen does have a 200e now
Since I've never heard of this Reed fellow before, nor remember seeing any posts about his Buchla. Him saying "we" not "I" implies to me something other than personal ownership. But whatever.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Kevin Lightner, he sells Moog Rogue / Taurus 2 wall warts on Evilbay for $20. They sell them at Mouser or Digikey for only $4. Kevin's photo's taken at an angle so you can't see the label. This makes me think he was trying to hide the label to hide the fact that the same supply could be had for 1/4 the price. Maybe I'm wrong. I think it's great that he's selling parts but wonder how much his markup usually is and if there's a better source to be found.
ReplyDeletewow, dok, everywhere i go you're just advertising your bling.
ReplyDeleteCan it really be considered "advertising his bling" when he cops to paying that kinda cash for a MUSE Receptor Pro?
ReplyDeleteI'll agree that he seems to be advertising SOMETHING with that comment... ;)
> wow, dok, everywhere i go you're just advertising your bling.
ReplyDeleteI'm just advertising my insecurity and my terribly small penis.
[the internet is for >>gear<< porn]
Anonymous... no the supplies I sell are not from Mouser or Digikey.
ReplyDeleteYou cannot buy them there.
However, you can buy the same exact ones from someone else on ebay.
With shipping, you'll pay them about $45. Ours cost about half that.
Btw, if you buy a bunch of power supplies, you might be surprised to find that shipping isn't very cheap on heavy items. We also pay tax that other fellow on Ebay doesn't.
Anonymous. Says it all right there.
PS: my supplies have no label.
ReplyDeleteAsk anyone that's bought one.
Yes you can buy a Rogue / Taurus 2 power supply for around $4 new. If it wasn't from Mouser or Digikey than it was from one of the other major suppliers. Tax and shipping aren't so significant here. So what would it cost someone else to buy the same supply you're selling? :)
ReplyDeleteJeez anonymous!
ReplyDeleteWe don't get the supplies we sell for $4. Final cost on ours are about 3 times that.
Tax and shipping are *very* significant.
Instead of just blathering more crap, why not post a friggin source and part number!!
I'm calling your bluff.
Prove your point. Put up or shut up.
Show us all a link or info for these $4 supplies or remain a liar in our minds. The non-anonymous minds anyways.
I got a few sliders from the "synthfool bicycle repairman" that are terrible. Scratchy! I understand that they were old ones and that he cleaned them. Nice to find out after they are installed that they are crap.
ReplyDeleteGood egg, eh?
I'm sure I'll buy more stuff from them soon anyway. Glad to know a source to get them from anyway. It's probably not really his fault. Maybe just some watered down contact spray.
You know, unless you know for a FACT that this fellow does not pay tax, you are slandering him. Maybe your the one that is not paying tax.
