VMM-R

"VMM-R (pronounced "Vimmer") is a software MIDI sequencer and recorder. It is heavily based upon a hardware sequencer, known as the Alesis MMT-8.

VMM-R provides an affordable (free) alternative to expensive professional MIDI sequencing equipment. It runs on an ordinary home PC, requiring only Windows XP and a standard sound card. It is also intended to be suited to the music professional, able to be used for live performance on stage.

For the professional, VMM-R can communciate with any device that attaches to the MIDI port of the sound card. Such devices include synthesizers, musical keyboards, and even other sequencers (including the original MMT-8)."

  1. Interesting concept, but the graphics look like they were done by a 5-year old.

    Uses that new-fangled MIDI, though...and it's free.
