Over 1 million hits!

Looks like I finally broke 1 million hits. I'm not sure when it happened, but my site stats are showing 1,022,798 hits. Number of posts to date? 4488. This one marks 4489.

  1. This is quite possibly the best site I've found for all around, good natured, synth geek goodness.

    Keep the LFO's modulating matrix!

  5. Congrats!

I feel like I was a couple thousand of those; I check your site often since you update so often. To paraphrase the above comment, this is the place for good-natured synth appreciation.

  6. Thanks everyone. A dollar for every hit. If that happened, I'd buy the 50 Voyagers and give them out for free. Synthbaron, I can't even buy one with the ad revenue. Let's just say it turns out to be way, way less than a penny per view. I won't be quitting my day job anytime soon. You can't run a site like this for the money. Now if I did celebrity gossip... This guy named Perez Hilton is currently at over two million unique users a day! I can't imagine how many hits he gets a day with repeat visits. I'd guess six million plus. He's probably doing pretty good. So... tell all your friends to start coming here. : )

BTW, the number of subscriptions I have on Bloglines is considerably less than Create Digital Music and less than Music Thing. I guess the hard core synth audience is smaller, or people just don't know about this site. I keep seeing people post stuff I put up months ago on AH, the-gas-station and other synth related sites, as if it was knew. I feel like replying with a link to my original post, but that would be considered spam, so... I don't. I then wonder if I post too much and lose readers because it's just overwhelming to keep up. Who knows... I just need to keep myself in check. I started this site to keep track of the stuff coming in. That's all it is and that's all I should focus on.

  8. There are many synth and music sites out there, but this one is my top 3. The ebay trawls, the Flikr scoops, and the esoteric YouTube finds in addition to the other SynthPorny goodness make this site TEH KEWL!

at 2 million, we're takin' you out drinkin' !

  9. Thanks Moogulator. Yes, remember this? : )I was having issues with my host so I decided to switch the blog over to Blogger. The cool thing about Blogger is the site should stay up long after I'm gone.

  12. Hmm. 1 million isn't a prime number. Tell me what IP's get hits that are prime numbers greater than a million:

    1000003
    1000033
    1000037
    1000039
    1000081
    1000099
    1000117
    1000121
    1000133
    1000151

I had to write a program just for this post to compute these primes.

One of my favorite primes: 655351

    Another is: 911111

    Peace

  13. Gee Paul, what a geeky question. I think there's a perl lib call that will do that: getMinAssignedNetworkAddressGreaterThan1000000()

    no?

So what's the answer? Isn't anything near 1000000 decimal in a reserved address space?

To reduce spam, comments for posts older than one week are not displayed until approved, usually same day. Do not insult people. For items for sale, do not ask if it is still available. Check the auction link and search for the item. Auctions are from various sellers and expire over time. Posts remain for the pics and historical purposes. This site is meant to be a daily snapshot of some of what was out there in the world of synths.
