I love my MG-1, but over $900 is insanity, no matter how clean. Over 5 bills is even questionable.
ReplyDeleteIts so nice!, A lot of times the mg-1s on the bay are beat-up. I could understand that someone with unlimited money would buy that, because in my dream life where i win like 236 million dollars i collect perfect mint condition analog synths. I also buy all the TB-303s i see for any price until there are none left ( i always wake up before finding out what i do with them ).
ReplyDeleteYeah some times it's the idea of "winning" or "not losing"... it's abit steep for a MG-1...
ReplyDeleteunbelievable ..
ReplyDeletethis was the first synth i owned, and i also made a few hundred profit off an ebay sale.. but 930?? damn!
That's probably the nicest one I've ever seen. It looks mint. That's why the bidding went so high. Look at the prices Moog Song produces have been going for. Over $200. I THREW AWAY a half dozen of them just over a year ago. Sheeit. I think since Bob Moog's death, more people have become aware of a certain collectability factor.
ReplyDeletesomeone recently offered to sell me their "minimoog" for $1500.. I figured that was worth looking into.. showed up and it was an MG1.
ReplyDeleteI tried to tell them that it wasnt even a real moog but they didnt understand since it says designed by moog on it. I suggested that I could write moog on pretty much anything but that wouldnt make it a moog.
MG-1 is a real moog in terms of technology.. its definately not a mini-moog tho
ReplyDeletedesigned by moog music from what i gather but built by realistic (radioshack) I would consider the crumar spirit more of a moog dispite not saying it.. even perhaps the syrinx with the moog designed filter.. thats proper moog not moog music mind you.
