Roland SH-3 + Sherman Filter Bank 2 (Phat!)
Via shagghie: "Here's one of two videos I did last night with a Roland SH-3 (not a 3a, but a real straight 'SH-3'), along with a Sherman FilterBank II sitting on top of it. I tried to do a tounge in cheek spoof on the Sherman demo videos....'this is coming in......this is coming out'."

Holy hell that was fun! I wish my camera mic could pick up the ultra low frequencies...I was getting massive air movement out of the 12" sub, and the square wive on the SH-3's lower octave additive OSC is *really* fat and round towards the frequency floor.
ReplyDeleteOf course I barely touched the Sherman...if only because I couldn't keep my hands off the sliders on the SH-3.
That's a hell of a sound coming out there. I like the raw sound of the SH-3 and the Sherman just adds more than I think, the magnetic spectrum can deal with without space folding up on itself!
ReplyDeleteI had a Sherman QMF (4 sherman filterbank 1's with some mods) for a while. I blew out three monitors. Luckily, two were tannoy's, and the factory is within walking distance, and replacement tweeters were under 45 bucks.
ReplyDeleteThe true awesome might of the sherman filterbank is when it's CV modulated, and midi controlled at the same time. Total nutzersizing.
Ahh yes, there's nothing quite so fun as synthesising fart noises.
