"I bought this from Schneider's Beuro while holidaying in Europe last year. I was missing my modular and just had to spend money while in the shop so this filled in the gaps while travelling (sad I know).
Schneiders Beuro call it the 'Jimmy Box' because with certain settings and with the attached Doepfer A-198 ribbon controller thing then a passable imitation of a certain legendary guitarist is possible..."
I like it! Thanks Simon!
The antenna is the A-178 THER (theremin)
Module list: A-178 THER (theremin), A-198 TRC, Dual VCA, A-124 VCF5
Is this available in the USA? Where do you find a case with power supply that small if you want to make your own mini modular?
ReplyDeleteNo they're not available - this was a prototype that Schneiders Beuro let me have. They were planning on making it a commercial product but I believe it had a few problems (I think the wood split if you changed modules too much).
ReplyDeleteI initially started out choosing modules with the intention of mounting them in a plastic Analogue Solutions case that I had spare (the 36HP one that comes with their Micro Modular - not sure if its still available). There were some questions around whether the power connectors in this case were suitable for the Doepfer modules so I ended up not taking the chance and getting the wooden case instead.
The case has the small Doepfer power supply / bus board which you could get from here and mount in a case - http://www.analoguehaven.com/doepfer/a100mnt/
nice one simon bring it round
ReplyDeleteget back to work :-)
ReplyDeleteAww that's so cute.
ReplyDeleteThey should make a robotic tail that waggs out the back when you modulate it.
