What a beaut. Which SH-101 color really IS the rarest? Pretty sure I've seen auctions of all 3 colors making that claim.
ReplyDeleteby all accounts red is definitely more rare than blue. My favorite is blue. I have mint grey one (and I mean mint! - it looks and feels like I just bought it last week). I'd love to get a blue one but I'd hate to sell my grey one (not a bad dilema)
ReplyDeletethe thing that sucks about SH-101's is the battery cover. When they tooled the thing it never came out right - but someone at Roland let it go probably because they couldn't modify the tool or redo the part because of lack of time and/or money...so the battery cover doesn't fit, it never fully clicks in right and sticks out a little. Take a close look at any and all pics. That's also part of the reason you see a lot of them with broken tabs where the cover is supposed to snap into the top fo the unit...
ReplyDeleteMy battery cover clicks in just fine.
ReplyDeleteGuess yours just aren't so mint. ;-)
are you kidding or serious? I've owned two and repaired three of them - same problem on all of them. The battery cover will click but it does not fit properly, it sticks out at the top. Unless they made a second tool and fixed the problem on later production ( I highly doubt it siince they only made it for a couple years).

nice one! just for that I'm going to have to take a bunch of hi-res pics and post it on matrix ;)
I was the original owner of a red 101. It also had the battery cover problem. Another common problem with the 101 is the bender breaking.
ReplyDeletewhere can you get a replacement bender?
ReplyDeleteMine is broken! (snapped off-still works tho)
