Yeah, still one of my favourite synths... The ribbon and mod wheels are my favourite on the prophecy...
ReplyDeleteHad a Prophecy for a while. Loved the "log", but I hated the stubby knobs. My Prophecy was slightly flaky as well. Not a bad monosynth, though. Under-appreciated for its non-analog physical model sounds, which are quite nifty.
ReplyDeleteGiven the choice of a VL-1 or a Prophecy, though, I'd go with the VL.
$469 on ebay - kinda high for this synth. If you look at the ones that have sold recently $320-$350 is the going range. Folks need to learn how to entice and not be greedy on ebay. Mind you, if he can get $469 that would help pay ebays crazy rates these days. Great synth - I agree.
ReplyDeleteI love my Prophecy, but I almost never use the synth these days. I mostly use it as my main MIDI controller, it's just such a rock solid keyboard.
ReplyDeleteAgreed that the stubby little knobs weren't the best idea.
too bad its so ugggly
