  1. Excellent!

All of the modules look cool. The pseudo oscilloscope should be interesting.

  4. I can't tell what rack-format it is... MOTM? I hope it's frac-rack, but highly doubt it.

  5. they will be in Euro-Rack format. fantabulous!

  6. Yup, euro-rack format If you want to add some euro rack modules to your frac setup but don't want to pay the high price of euro-racks from doepfer or Asys, just do what I did and buy some cheap computer subracks from ebay and a power-one or similar power supply and wire it to the doepfer busboard. You can get a subrack and power supply on ebay for under $40 combined including shipping usually and the Doepfer busboard is $50 so you can have the exact same thing as the $460 Doepfer rack for $90. Not to shabby if you ask me. ;)

  7. frac is a dying format, no more wiard,
eurorack is the winner, plan b , livewire, doepfer, cgs panther, asys, asolutions, etc

  8. MOTM (*new*), LiveWire (*new*), Blacet, Metalbox, Bananalogue, CGS boards

    Frac rack dying? huh?

Funny comment at a time when other formats (both 5U and Eurorack) are migrating to frac in order to make sales. I'd wager that Euro will ultimately be the loser - defined heavily by the low-cost/low-innovation offerings from Doepfer. No thanks.

  9. Frac is not dying, it is actually growing and gaining popularity faster than any other format. What an asinine comment. As mentioned, Livewire just released a line of frac modules since their euro sales were not doing as well as expected. MOTM makes frac format now. And the CGS Panther series that you mentioned, I get the feeling you have not even bothered to look at the specs for. They were intentionally designed to be cross format compatible accepting either +/-12V or +/-15V so they could be used in frac format. Maybe do a little research first before jumping to a ridiculous conclusion like that. You based your statement that the entire frac format is dying based solely on the fact that Grant is dicontinuing the 1200 series yet completely ignore the fact that MOTM, Metalbox, Bananalogue, Ad Infinitum and Livewire are releasing new frac modules almost every month now.

  11. who cares about format?!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Exactly! I suggest using a combo of both frac and euro and my comment above about using the subracks & power-one supply will save you a lot of $$$ if you do.

  13. Frac is great costwise in the U.S. but you have to consider the U.S. isn't all the market there is. While there are some non-3U exceptions in Europe, you have to admit Europe nearly all Euro.

  14. Hmm, considering all the format talk, that oscilloscope is surely PAL format. Not that they can't make another version for N.America/Japan

dammit you're right! I didn't think of that....dang, as an engineer i hate different formats of anything.....

    EARTH UNITE!

  16. The human format is dying.

    Long live the machines!

  17. I want a modulation input in this module to modulate waveforms with pr0n.

    :D
