Arturia Origin Video on Gearwire

Title link takes you to the video. It's modular in design, in that you can build your synth by selecting filters, oscillators and other components from their various software. You can mix and match as you like.

  4. shiny lights and buttons to fiddle with!

I don't think Arturia has figured out what their product is about. It's a messy thing and that's not forgivable at a product at this price range. What I get is a nord modular with a way clumsier interface featuring modelled vintage circuitry.

  5. I'm waiting to see someone snap off the display/knobs panel accidentally.

Was it so hard to integrate the desktop's panel so that it comes UP from the synth instead of folding up from the back like a laptop display? Something along the lines of the OASYS display?

    Crack! (insert cussing here)

  6. it's really messy. could be forgiven if it was a 2 oct only keyboard, but given it's so big anyway. also waiting to hear how it SOUNDS. for a unit at this pricepoint it better have some pretty incredible DACs to boot.

I don't see how you could say that. I think there are some excellent videos up on that site. Have you checked some of these out?

  8. I would love to try one, or at least hear one... Or at least see the screen with out a microphone in front of it... but I am unconvinced. This product may very well sink Arturia.

$3000 bucks for the desk-top seems a bit much. Perhaps if I try one I'd change my mind.
