They were around $750 brand new. Because they are so rare the price has gone up a little. I think it was a very fair price. But yes, I do smoke some very serious shit thank you very much!
small world, huh? nice buy, dr. future. you should be glad to have metasonix gear from before they were called the butt galvanizers or something. saves a lot of awkwardness having it around :D
of course some info can be found using the Wayback Machine!: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.metasonix.com
if I recall(i didn't check all the saved versions) the TS-22 and TS-23 were about $1199 new. The TS-21 and TM-1 are close-- the TS stuff is much better quality in general- all point to point wiring. The TS-21 has a stereo out, the TM-1 had a deluxe ltd version with that also. The TM-1 adds ring mod also. I have both but haven't compared them recently. BTW: a great co. to deal with also!
All Metasonix stuff have point-to-point wiring not just the TS series. Anyway, if you don't need the TS let me know I will buy it. I have all TX and TM (and S-1000) series .....
hehe. i bought this on ebay just now.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how it sounds on ground loop hum?

ReplyDeleteAnyways, I'm glad mine is going to the Doktor.
In early 2000 dollars, I thought it listed for 749 + taxes of course.
ReplyDelete$749 in 2000 dollars would be $876.98 in 2006 dollars today using the consumer price index.
So that would be around $890 in today's 2007 dollars I figure.
There was some other killer rack mount stuff Eric did that certainly cost more.
I also am looking for the TS-22 filter, if anyone cares to sell it to me.
i must have been thinking about another metasonix thing then.. i was thinking of something that was like 1500$
ReplyDeletewas there another box that got discontinued?
There was the TS-21 Hellfire Modulator, TS-22 Pentode Filterbank, and the TS-23 Dual Thyratron VCO.
ReplyDeleteCollect all three and you have one hell of a wretch machine!
I too remember there was a savagely expensive box (I'm imagining more than 1500 bucks) that was an ultra limited edition.
ReplyDeleteAnyone remember what it was?

ReplyDeleteI'll be bringing my Wretch Prototype to ANHE if anyone wants to see it up close. Also the TM-7 I drew all over.

ReplyDeleteIsn't it the same than the TM-2?
ReplyDeleteI meant TM-1....
ReplyDeleteBasic circuit from TS-21 used in TM-1 I hear.
ReplyDeleteOk, thanks this is what I thought. Let us know how it performs. Do you have a TM-1 to compare with?
ReplyDeleteThis will be my first Metasonix gear!
ReplyDeleteI am going to take this Hellfire Modulator and use it to sodomize my vast imagination.
