  1. And once again, comparisons to the Minimoog.
I bet the seller, like most, doesn't have a Minimoog to compare to.
    I have both.
The SE-1 is a great synth and has Midi my model D can't touch, but it just doesn't sound the same whatsoever.
If it did, I would have sold the Mini eons ago.

  2. Aren't the SE1 filters based on the Oberheim filters?

  3. I seem to recall it having both Oberheim & Moog style filters, but not sure. Good sounding box, but, as sj said, more of an augmentation than a replacement for the classics.

  4. I really dig the sound of studio electronics. The only thing I think they could improve is the form factor of their synths. Would make it far more attractive to have sleek desktop units and keyboards, imo. Their panels look good, though. best regards.

  5. I like SE a lot, and would buy an 8 voiice if they made one with a huge panel with lots more controls.

Also, if one could mix two filters at once on the same voice, that'd be great.

It's an 8/10 design without ultra filter scrambulation.

  6. SE gear is all about sound over features. New gear that has that elusive vintage sound. I remember the first time I played with an Andromeda, every feature I could ever want, but the sound just wasn't what I wanted it to be. First time I played with an Omega I said to myself... this is what I wanted the Andromeda to sound like.
