"Santa Barbara, California, 2007
We heard this duo performing live on State Street one evening earlier this month. If you ever get a chance to hear them, don't miss it. Dude had the theremin wailing like a squadron of banshees, hypnotizing pedestrians as far away as Cota Street."
Spot the synths.
Wow, they actually made it on here. I've told Nick about this site many times. Keep your eyes peeled. Nick is bound to get some good things happening in synth-deprived Santa Barbara.
ReplyDeleteCool. If you know him, tell him to send me some synth related content and I'll put it up. Vids, shots, etc.
ReplyDeleteI hung out with Nick and Anna quite a bit at NAMM... they're super cool people and hardcore Moog nuts (they were working the Moog booth)... check 'em out if you can!

-Matrix-,
ReplyDeleteDefinitely. I've known Nick and Annie for a while as she used to work in the coffee shop where I love, Lompoc. I've opened for them occasionally at Elsie's in S.B. with my own one-man synth project.
I'll shoot him and e-mail and let him know that you are interested in some synth stuff from him.
Cheers.

Hey! Don't be embarassed that it's a Realistic MG-1! ;)
ReplyDeleteOk Matrix,
ReplyDeleteI just got back from The Volt's performance tonight in Santa Barbara and I told Nick that you have them on here. Hopefully he'll contact you.
OK, someone's already noticed the Realistic MG-1 with the Moog sticker on the back.
ReplyDeleteSome of the others are obvious: a Minimoog, Little Phatty, Big Briar? Theremin.
The keyboard with the gooseneck mic coming out of it I think is a Korg MS2000.
Yup. That is an MS2000. He also has a Voyager Blue in the rig but you can't see it in that photo.
