"German Producer Conrad (Conny) Plank's studio stuff is up for auction. Off the top of my head, I know Plank worked with Kraftwerk, Can, Cluster, and Ultravox. Check out
wikipedia for more on Plank. Not bargain prices, but his gear does have historical value" Indeed. Title link takes you there.
Synth shots saved off
here.
Update:
check this out.
Update: Looks like this was up for auction a while back and I actually posted it. Doh! : )
link. I thought it was old news and searched for it but couldn't find the post, so I figured I probably just heard it was going up for auction but it actually didn't yet. So... I put this up. Oh well, it just goes to show you old news is new news especially in the synth world. What's interesting is the auction site hasn't been updated. Are these items actually still up for sale? The post I previously put up was dated
7/5/06.
I didn't want to ruin it for anyone clicking through, so I'm posting the check this out link in the post here for the archives:

every produktion from 1974 till now runs over this desk, the list is endless.
it´s in good working condition, if you want it near mind, you have to spend a bid off moeny but i talkt to peter lang and he´s willing to do it.
the buyer get not only a desk, and all manuals, papers, schematics, not only rock and pop history, even not only an very tiny desk that sound fantastic, no you get a hole workshop with it. it a room in the studio complex that is full of parts for the desk and 2 workbenches.witch are fully equiped.
so that´s a lot of stuff you get, so make your bid, and please don´t start with 100.-euro i can´t stand that no more."
this desk is the one Autobahn was mixed on. Had the opportunity to take a look at the stuff. Subraum (the place where the stuff is sold) is just around the corner. (I am living in Hamburg)
ReplyDeletethe auction doesn't seem to have a specified ending date?
ReplyDeleteotherwise, i've never seen a emulator voltage interface before, looks like it's made for the emulator 1. nice
it was the way conny plank used the gear that made it special
ReplyDeleteHe was the person behind the sound ,the machines where just used to get there
now it seems to me ,it is just overpriced hardware
I thought this had already taken place some time ago, and that it wasn't an ongoing thing...?
ReplyDeleteEvery year I go to 5G synth shop in Tokyo and there has been one of those Emu interface things in there. What is it, does anyone know?
ReplyDeleteAnon, you think it's CV and Gate inputs for playing an Emulator 1 from CV & Gate??
wow
yeah this is old news
ReplyDeleteYep... Post updated.
ReplyDeleteed, the emulator interface sure looks like a cv/gate add-on for the emulator1 though it lokks like having the same shape as the old drumolator, it seems to have 8 cv/gate inputs and channel mode selectors. no luck in googling up any further info on this device...
ReplyDeleteThere is some info on the analog voltage interface here:
