You'll need to turn this one up. Be sure to turn the volume down again when done. : ) Also be careful with the levels when using headphones. And yes, Loscha was aware of this. It's a fascinating talk worth listening to. Paul Perry of course is the man behind Frostwave, maker of the Resonator MS20 filter clone, the Fat Controller sequencer, various stomp boxes and more. I have a Resonator and it's top notch. It's definitely one of my favorite filters if not my favorite, and it's built like a tank. Link to original 52M video.

ReplyDeleteIm jealous that most of you can walk around the corner and see Morton Subotnik live, go visit Analog Haven, Peter G, Livewire etc if in UK or Europe see AUtechre live, go visit Kraftwerk, go to Elektron office etc

Heh don't know why but I always imagined Paul to be about 30-40, because he is so "hip", amazing, good on yer mate!
ReplyDeleteHaving owned 2 of his products I would recommend them, they are nice designs that work great and are built like military equipment.
Haha, I've wondered what he looked like for awhile now. I agree with the previous commentee on his age.

ReplyDeleteYeah, Paul's the best. I couldn't really hear him in the video though. I always pictured a guy with long hair and a beard, but then he mentioned once he was "bald as a cue". But yeah, I pictured a younger guy. Paul sure knows his stuff, and I'm glad he chimes in on the benders group from time to time over the years. He's surely helped me a lot!

ReplyDeleteI was a kind of emergency speaker & as you can see, not over-prepared. Thank God for the demonstrators! And I had no idea that Ed's camera was doing video.. I'm not really up to speed on the digital world yet.
As to appearances, yeah I did have a beard & hair to my ass, but that was 30 years ago! I'm turning 60 next month.. born same day & year as Laurie Anderson. I'm not a musician, but I like anyone with a mission.
Anyway, I know matrixsynth has a lot of viewers, so I hope some of them will be inspired to get soldering. Oh, and throw away your television! that will help a lot.
