  3. But if thin digi-poop is what you want.... What's interesting about the JP-8000 is it can produce massive bass, but that bass is clean aka thin. It's actually a pretty nice synth for glossy Roland sounds. Pads, strings and trancy sounds are very nice on it. It can also make some interesting squelchy organic sounds I can't easily get on other synths. What was really interesting was when the JP-8000 and AN1x came out Yamaha UK came out with the factory presets for the JP-8000 on the AN1x. I A/Bed them and the were spot on! I couldn't believe it. I think with the exception of maybe one or two patches you could not tell the difference.

  4. But is that a good thing, Matrix? IMHO, synths should have a certain degree of character to them...one should be able to do some things that another can't, and so on. Otherwise, we'd all be playing nondescript boxes with some sort of boring universal control, like hordes of awful little GMIDI Sound Canvases. And electronic music would be as interesting as a beige room...
