ReplyDeleteI use Linux and I couldn't really get any the synths to work. The Vox organ module sounded good, but then my horrible soundcard decided I couldn't use MIDI and audio at the same time.
ReplyDeleteMost linux audio software is pretty terrible (linear volume envelopes and stuff)

Tried these a month or two ago, and can't claim to have been surprised: your basic digital substractive stuff of at most average quality..
ReplyDeleteBut well, the annoying thing was that I had lots of trouble getting the GUIs actually control the synths, some of them would not work at all, some would crash when trying to change presets or tweak something, and well...
After about 15 minutes of trying to get something interesting out of those, I just switched back to ZynAddSubFX and forgot..
