Gyre

"Gyre is a program I've been writing in Max/MSP for playing my Buchla 200e. It is a work in progress, but I'm finding it pretty usable, even in its current state. One of the things I like about Gyre is that it separates the timing information from the note generation processes. For example, this means that I can have a rhythm going driving a step sequencer, then switch to a Sample & Hold using the same rhythm pattern."

  1. Are you sharing Gyre yet? May I give it a try with my modular?

  2. Well, right now it's really tied to the Buchla 225e MIDI interface. I've been thinking about what it would take to make it more general. If I can come up with a good way to make it easy to map the outputs to arbitrary places without complicating the UI too much I may make it available.

That may happen if and when I add support for a second MIDI->CV interface (I have a Kenton Pro-2000 gathering dust along with my other analog synths).
