Not sure it still have its protective cover...Looks like a bubbled varnish to peel off carefully
ReplyDeleteI'm actually not surprised by this. The Solus is like the 2600 in that it's built into a case. Most of the specimen I've seen have been stored with the cover on, and cosmetically look fantastic.
ReplyDeletethe Solus is a great lil synth! the Sync sound w/ ENV is gnarly. Ours didn't have any protective cover or varnished panel so i'm led to believe this really is from the factory... Super-clean looking, but those dirty sliders might be a problem!

Its pretty obvious that its a plastic cover. Get a clue geez.

ReplyDeleteOut of all the Arps I've owned over the years, the only one that didn't have stuck and dirty sliders and all of the caps was the Solus, simply because it had been stored with the cover on it most of its life.
ReplyDeleteThe paint used doesn't appear to be any different whatsoever from the other Arps of that period, and most did have a protective film over them when they shipped..
..However, just because it looks new doesn't mean it works. Since this has been rarely, if ever, played, chances are it's going to have some serious issues. Analog components don't like to go without electricity for extended periods of time.
