This gets 3.5 Purple Towers
ReplyDeletewhy are some things so bad that they are AMAZING!?
ReplyDeleteSacrilege!
ReplyDeleteOK, I love my LP, but it definitely won't ever be a CS-80. Still, I thought the guy did an awesome job with this. Neat little afternoon project.
ReplyDeletethe thing about a piece like this is that its all in the textures and timing. its a mood piece. it just has to flow and take you through a journey. i think you did a great job of something that is more about creating a mood than sequencing a bunch of synths together. i like that you didnt try too hard to recreate all the same sounds as well. it retains the right mood. the only suggestion is to work on the timing of the chords that underlay the leads.
ReplyDeleteWow, that was great!
ReplyDeletePlexus and Dave have it right. Even though it isn't perfect, it captures the mood. The sounds are reasonably close to my memory of them, and there's no CS-80 in sight.
ReplyDeletei had a cs-50 for a couple of weeks and did a cover of tommib by squarepusher, another moody peice meant to evoke a lonely metropolis. it's not near perfect but the huge wavering voice of the thing filled out so nice.
