i'm onthe waiting list for a x0xb0x. i've been reading blogs by people assembling them and some of them mention finding components on thier own. have the parts become that scarice?
convoy- Here's the bill of materials, which notes which parts are rare (mainly a few transistors.) http://www.ladyada.net/make/x0xb0x/fab/prep/index.html It's a great kit!
By the way, the only way you'd need to source your own parts is if you a) elect not to buy the entire kit b) break something c) are a purist who has to have an original BA662A VCA (basically requires sacrificing a piece of vintage roland gear).
Otherwise for $330 you get all the parts you need.
I was expecting a mess but it looks like he did a nice job. Okay, now I've got to get on the x0xb0x waiting list.
