Realize this demo is to show just a little bit of what the Genoqs can be used for. It is not to be viewed as a piece of music. Realize what it is doing and think of the potential when using it to trigger your synths. via the comments of this post.

  2. Ahh. My lil’ quick vid.
I can add some info here.

On each of the 160 “Pages”, the Octopus allows you to run 10 individual tracks of upto 16 steps (can be shortened to any length). Tracks can be “chained together” say run 5 sets of two rows (each row can go it’s own direction as well), or 2 sets of 4 rows.

I love on the Doepfer MAQ and DSI Evolver Sequencer how you can add/subtract hold time on each step to get some funk going.

Since the Octopus is currently restricted to each of the 10 tracks being able to set their own multiples or divisions of speed to run against the master clock. I decided to build a sequence that ran vertically with a shorter number of steps and could then have each row/track set to it’s own clock division..

The 3 settings I flash between were quick copy / pastes of the sequence in it’s 3 explained changes.

So now..each of those 8 rows it’s moving down could have it’s own swing setting, different directions, etc..etc..etc.

Hope that helps explain somewhat..I realize it’s choppy.

    coolio,
