Raymond Scott - Lightworks
YouTube via johnnysmooth.
"okay, a couple months ago I got this Raymond Scott compilation. Scott is pretty much the inventor of electronic music. He did a lot of music for commercial and cartoons but also he did stuff like this. I don't know if I would necessarily recommend this compilation. There are some real nice bits, but they are few. meh...and that's my review.
The visuals are from 'Treasure Island,' one of my favorite books, although I had never seen this version. I got it because I have this book, 'The Hollywood Book of Death' and this kid in the film is in it. Bobby Driscoll who when he got older got into drugs (heroine) and he ended up dying (or is it dieing) pretty young."

Raymond Scott was a true innovator. He built many of his own instruments and a lot of his work still sounds fresh now. When listening to the Manhattan Research album I'm always suprised at how little electronic music has evolved. A huge influence on me.
