  1. Can't wait til nano technololgy makes it so that sensors and chips are small and inexpensive enough to sprinkle on things, like sugar on grapefruit. Then we could make chewing gum controllers or just implant them in objects like bouncing rubber balls to track and record the actions of natural quasi random events and have tunes like Bucephalus Bouncing Ball just write themselves...

  2. By the way, is this that group Talking Hands?

  3. i've seen a bunch of these demos and i don't get it. not one of them has been compelling in any way. it's a cool idea, but is anybody doing anything interesting with them?

  4. yeah, I don't get it either. Do these actually assist in creation of music or do you already have to put everything in place?

To me this falls into the same category as circuit bending in terms of novelty. That, while cool, has little genuine musical application outside of glitch music IMO.

  5. They're just alternate MIDI controllers with some visual feedback. They generate controller messages and the values change according to the relative positions of the two cubes (sender and receiver). What's not to get?

I personally think it's very cool, and I hope DJs especially will get into it. I'm much rather see someone manipulating these over mousing around.
