Yeah, but we want a hardware, real analog recreation of the 808...
ReplyDeletenovation and studio electronics already made some. this is still better. i have all the hardware and it just does what you would do with all the boxes anyway. 606 hihat on a daw finally. no crunchy buttons no volatile memory, no toxic smelling transformers, no scratchy sounding pots. i guess you would have to have the stuff to appreciate it.
ReplyDelete"no crunchy buttons no volatile memory, no toxic smelling transformers, no scratchy sounding pots." - no fun :)
ReplyDeleteTheir demos sound right on but I heard a bit more bass in the 808 kicks on the real thing. I tried Drumazon and it was lousy, hopefully this'll be better.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying out the demo and so far am totally underwhelmed. Can't speak as to the emulation quality (the only TR I have is the 707), but at the moment, this isn't doing it for me.
ReplyDeleteHaving used it a little more (and read the manual), I've started to like it a little more. Once you get rid of the frankly silly "FX" and get the knobs all in the right positions, it really doesn't sound too bad.
ReplyDeleteThe demos make it sound like you could boost around 100Hz with a narrow band and get a closer sound to the 808. There was this rubbery girth/mud to the 808 sound that I missed in the demos.
ReplyDeletesynthetic, the software has a lot of options under the hood. you can switch from a mint model to an older (or more vintage/used sounding) model.
