ReplyDeleteyah, i think its a microchip simply because he is using those RJ connectors which microchip uses for JTAG debugging (i know the "hockey puck" programmer has RJ cables)
ReplyDeletehow come somany of teh traces are freehand and funny angles? Usually you lay out with 45 degree wire bends, curve wire bends, or a combination of both. There's some weird freehand point to point stuff there.

Just seems strange, but there must be some reason for it.
The Andromeda A6 uses custom ASICs that are designed by and proprietary to Alesis.

Sorry I meant digitally controlled oscillators. I know they're analog, but I think he's using the PIC micro for the digital control. Perhaps the envelopes are also implemented in the PIC micro as well.

you're so racist to think a dsPIC can't do an ADSR or two in addition to digitally controlling the oscillator and generating lfo, modulations, etc. Of course, the envelopes are done in the dsPIC. do you see anything else?
ReplyDeleteI agree. Nothing wrong with digital oscillator controll, envelopes and modulation. The sound of the Prophet 08 speaks for itself.
