Prophet 10 polymod demonstration

YouTube via suitandtieguy.
"here's a demonstration of how you can make wicked crazy Dr Who terror sounds with it. this thing is incredible. maybe i should keep it.

this would be me playing the Prophet 10, to demonstrate that it works for the purpose of purchase. if i were to demonstrate its sound i would have recorded the sound better."

  1. You should keep it. If you sell it, you'll regret it. The value on these has greatly increased in recent years and I'd guess they'll continue to increase in value.

  2. It doesn't matter what the value is. It how important the sound is.

  4. The sound is incredible, wide range of possibilities. I wouldn't sell it. I wish I had one.

  6. wow.

on one hand, i'm rather disappointed there aren't 8 million anonymous comments telling me what crap my textures are, how i should have recorded it on my Sound Devices 744T, or how gay i am for knowing how to play more than one sarah mclachlan song. of course no one here gives a shit about Jack McDuff so there's no peanut gallery bullshit about that.

on the other hand, i'm very glad to hear you guys tell me i should keep it.

of course the funny thing is, it's not mine to keep. i need to broker the sale to myself or to an Ebay citizen.

fortunately someone obligated to buy a large quantity of the modules i sell, this makes P10 ownership envisable.

i still haven't made up my mind. i think i'm going to think on this for a few days. look for the auction, if it happens, on Monday coming.

  7. btw, thanks guys.

btw, "not even remotely funny", you have a point, but since you've never played a P-10 you simply do not understand.

and i don't mean that as an insult. there's just no way you can comprehend this thing.

pete townshend said that "the Prophet 10 is that little slice of heaven reserved for Hammond organists who have done LSD."

i can't really put it better. unless you've gigged with a Hammond _and_ a Minimoog, there is really no possible way for you to comprehend how amazing this thing is. period.
