STG Labs Mankato - FU Edition

Nice edition.

Note that STG Labs is available via Analogue Haven although I do not see the Mankato listed as of this post.

STG as in Suit & Tie Guy. I don't see the Mankato listed there yet either.

Udpate via Suit & Tie Guy in the comments:
"yes i've been slacking on the website actually. sorry about that.

there's a stack of mankato PCBs et cetera almost fully stuffed, just waiting on some components that showed up today and a particular VCA IC which should be on its way as well.

the line at analoguehaven.com/stgsoundlabs will within the month be the multiples, the gate delay, the post-lawsuit lowpass filter and the mankato filter.

there's also a wave folder i'm in the middle of testing right now, but i don't know if i can get it out by christmas."

Update: more info on this electro-music.com thread.

  2. I don't understand the Mankato Filter. It looks like there are several phased filter outputs and a selector that rotates to each one. If you need to patch out of a particular phase output, what does the selector switch do? Does it route the other phases to that output? Does it turn that output on or off?

  3. it looks to me like the phases are fixed to the designated outputs. the selector switch selects what type of filter is used to pass audio through. ( 6db, 12db, lp, bp, etc.)

but hey, i've been wrong before.

  4. How long until we can get some audio of this? It's very intriguing, and almost making me wish I had waited before ordering my Post Lawsuit filter! (almost)

  5. believe it or not, the knob in the middle of the 8 outputs is the coarse tuning control, and the tuning vernier is over to the right side. all eight outputs are simultaneously available.

the reason for this is because the coarse control goes from subaudio to superaudio, so in the course of a performance you're more likely to need to tweak the fine tuning, which itself has a bit of a range.

the reason the jacks are in orbit around the coarse tune control is simple: i thought it looked cool.
