Blovachord - Novachord Emulation on the Waldorf Blofeld

via Boele of SCD on the Waldorf list:

"This sound is trying to emulate the Hammond Novachord, a pre war *synthesizer*. Yes, pre-war synthesizer, you're reading that right. Besides my Blofeld blabla, it's quite an interesting view/read.

The sound I am talking about (but all Novachord sounds have that moody athmosphere) is here:

The Blofeld is producing this one:

Specially in the low regions of the keyboard is getting so darn good!
And remember, this is a bare Blofeld. No FX, no compressing/limiting or whatever. Pure Waldorf!
It's modulated wavetable stuff, it's nice filters in series, it's Waldorf! I mean, play one of Stefan's teasers after this one and you understand the enormous amount of sounds possible with this white thingy!"

  2. The Bloefeld piece sounds more like a Roland MKS-70 than the Nova, but still very nice. That Novachord............WOW! That is pure goodness.

  5. The CD that Phil C sells from his site is well worth buying, it includes all of the pieces on the side in CD audio quality, plus a load more. It's good!

  6. The midrange of the blofeld sample is actually pretty close, high end and low end less so maybe. Closer than I got with my Ion, and I was quite pleased with that at the time.

  7. Ugh. I missed the Novachord label. I updated the post. At the bottom of it there is a Novachord link. Click on it and scroll for more info on the Novachord. There's quite a bit up.
