Split Enz - I Got You

YouTube via joehop52. Sequential Circuits Prophet-5, Octave CAT, Roland RE-210 Space Echo, and Yamaha CS80 and CP-70. "New Zealand band Split Enz on ABC Comedy/Music show "Fridays" performing 'I Got You'"

And the original video:

And... my favorite Split Enz track:

  1. Eddie Rayner was a great keyboardist and really helped define the sound of Split Enz, which is evident in these clips. He went on to play keys on Paul McCartney's 'Press to Play' album. He was also a producer on the debut album by Crowded House, a band created by former Split Enz band member Tim Finn.

  2. Fantastic stuff - both songs are definitely all-time. Figured that was P5 all over "I Got You." BTW, for shame for not mentioning the quick CP-70 appearance. Why people don't acknowledge the sheer beauty of this beast baffles me.

  3. Yes a nice CP-70 and opposite was that a Roland RE-201? And what is the synth on top of the Cp-70?

  4. CS60 in the first video. The 80 has more preset buttons...

  5. Thanks. I added the CP-70. Not sure if thats a Space Echo or a CompuRhythm.

Carbon111, I think it is the CS80. Compare it to this image. In the one in the video you can see the two rows of sliders on top and you can see the white button that is the fourth button going from left to right on the top row. Below it is a red button. The interesting thing though is in the video it looks like it has black levers for Brilliance and Resonance to the right of the Tone buttons.

  6. Actually that is an RE-201 Space Echo. I found a better angle of it in the video and compared it to some shots online. I updated the post.

  7. The guitar Neil is playing is a Yamaha SG2000 or a variant thereof. We have one in our shop and it sounds incredible.

  8. You're right. At 1:15 I just saw the buttons, not the sliders and the image is blurry enough that it looked like a single row of "tablets".

    Oops.
