The Junior 106
flickr by kb_cheapmods.
"These are images showing my finished "hacked" Juno106, as inspired by Henrik Nydell's original Junior106. I followed his lead very closely; the only thing I did different was to keep the power supply within the chassis"

Awesome. I always wondered what it would be like to make one of these! Very tempting.
ReplyDeleteHere is the project page of the first J106:

the 1st page doesn't seem to work, but the rest does.
YES!!!
ReplyDeleteHow do you cut-down the keyboard? I would love to do this with my Fantom.
ReplyDeleteYou should glue the two end-pieces back together and sell it on the bay.
ReplyDeleteGD this is awesome!
ReplyDeletei will seriously pay big bucks for one of these. who wants to make one for me????????????
Henrik's got the details on the keyboard chopping.
ReplyDeleteThe key matrixing on the 106 did lend itself nicely to the chop.
One thing not shown: as Henrik did, to get the lower octaves, you have to put in a switching mechanism so the CPU reads the keyboard switches as lower octaves. Henrik's solution was very elegant, using existing switches on the main panel and an LED indicator. Mine was less so: a toggle switch on the bender board, which happened after I took these pics.
Maybe I'll post my simple circuit...pretty much just analog switches.
i do not get this but i would like a 61 note sh-101.
ReplyDeletewill your juno keys fit?
