the mini killed it, hands down. not that i am lacking respect for how cool the lil guy is... still.
ReplyDeleteThe Mini has no presets or virtual mod patches!
ReplyDeleteMoog sounded fat, Korg sounded thin. Actually, the Moog was down right obese in comparison.
ReplyDeleteHere's some images of the waveforms:

Either way, of course, the Mini would win.
ReplyDeleteNow I can't get that melody out of my head!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure this was a pisstake .. or was it?
ReplyDeletewhat are presets?
ReplyDelete@stephen jones,
ReplyDeleteIt's not a piss take mate. I was just playing the MK one day and realised how good it really sounds. For it's price and format, it's a great unit. Having said that, the Moog sounds sublime in the flesh. Just brings a smile to your face. :-)
looks like your mini's triangle wave symmetry is off a bit.
ReplyDeletei shouldn't have watched this. i never expected the micro to stand up to a critical comparison but that was just slaughter.
ReplyDeletei gave up trying to use dsp synths with analog back when the prophecy came out. they just don't get along.
In case you missed it, I have made another video that includes images of the waveforms as they are playing.
ReplyDeleteThe material is the same as this video.
Here is the new video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=fjY9G17KzIw
You have to consider the dramatic price difference
