"This vintage synthesizer is designed as a one-man-band rhythm accompaniment for vocalist or soloist. It is complete with two operation pedals, rack stand, cables and memory expansion accessory. Please see photo. The Auto-Orchestra is fully-functional and sounds great. Its analog synth voicings are incredibly rich and full."
You can find more info on the MTI Auto-Orchestra here.
Anyone know the mfg years for both Auto-Orchestras was? I've always assumed the 16-R (pictured) was newer than the other model (the fantastic cubed beast).
ReplyDeleteI have complete factory schematics for the Auto-Orchestra....and stuff for Roland and Yamaha as well

Please tell me you'll sell this to me. I use to have one and sold it on eBay almost a year ago....I could kick my ass. I performed with it for 25 years and can't find another like it. I don't know exactly when it was made. Mid 70's.
ReplyDeleteIf you're interested inselling it let me know, please.
I just purchased a different modelon eBay and it's all screwed up, it's more square than the
16R, and the bass petals are wooden like an organ. Please respond to Marlin G

Anyone have ATO-16 Service and owners manuls for sale.. also AO-1 owners manual..thanks.. mike mikebrain6@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteSince this thread comes up in searches, I'll try. I'm looking for a pedal only if someone happens to have one. I have a AO-1 with the older design volume and st/stop, Minor, Diminished and 7th. But the way they were attached was weak and they snapped off when stepped on.
ReplyDeleteAlso mine says "touch pad" on the back, instead of Break/Roll" whatever that was?
And... I see someone has a mini keyboard on theirs on Youtube. Interesting.
Looking for a operators manual for the AO-1 which is probably very similar to the 16-R, schematic would be stunning in case of someday needed to repair mine. Easy email jafo@gizex.com
