Anyone know what the knob on the top right of the rack ears is and how it connects to the XP2? I'm guessing a volume knob? The fact that it's just there is interesting. I mean, would you really notice it if it weren't there? I wonder how much it increased the cost.

# built in Chorus
# 8 voices with dual oscillators
# easy to program from front panel knobs and buttons
# Headphone Jack & 4 individual assignable outputs
# Joystick -great for live performance.
# Run external instruments through the filter & Chorus!
# stackable patches- you can stack sounds for a single, big monosynth sound
I think it is an input jack, not a knob. If you look closely it appears to have a picture of a male 1/4" on it.
ReplyDeletevolume knob is in the lower left corner
ReplyDeleteYes, the input jack connects straight to the input jack on the unit itself.
ReplyDeleteThose ears were made for the original Darkstar, so there's a bit of a mismatch with the cables provided with the ears.
It's a real shame that they didn't update the vocoda chip to work with the XP2...that's really what I bought this for (rack ears and all)
At the top right, is the jack for an input signal. This becomes useful when you install the vocoder eprom chip for the darkstar.
