"The ZX Spectrum is an 8-bit personal home computer released in the United Kingdom in 1982 by Sinclair Research Ltd. Originally dubbed the ZX81 Colour and ZX82,[1][2] the machine was later renamed the ZX Spectrum by Sinclair to highlight the machine's colour display, compared with the black-and-white of its predecessor, the Sinclair ZX81.[3] It is affectionately known as the Speccy by its fan following."
The sound chip in the Speccy is the AY-3-8910. It was also the sound chip in the Atari ST and the Orchestra 90 cartridge for the Radio Shack Color computer (it came preprogrammed with a bit of the William Tell Overture).
ZX Spectrum -- best computer ever!
ReplyDeleteI've built a few ZX81's when I was a kid.
I think my Analog Watch is more powerful :)
