Doepfer A-100 Monster Base Frame

via Doepfer, via ross.
On the occasion of the Musikmesse Frankfurt from March 12 to 15, 2008 we show the prototype of the A-100 Monster Base. It has the same width as the A-100 monster case and is planned as a base frame for these. But it can be used also without the monster case. It has a removeable top cover with handle for easy transportation.
The base frame has two rows for modules available: one with horizontal alignment and another 45 degrees inclined row. The useable width will be probably 160 HP (i.e. a bit less than the monster case because of the mechanical construction). Two A-100 power supplies (PSU2) and four bus boards are built in.

Release date: spring 2008, price: still to be calculated

  1. It looks like a beautiful system - I love a well-designed modular performance system. This case really cries out for a touchplate keyboard or something like it, though, to make it truly self-contained.

Does anyone know of something that would work with this format?

  2. EXACTLY WHAT I NEED!!

I've outgrown my single monster case and I can't afford the space required for two side by side. This provides a nice step without enlarging the footprint.

    Wonderful!

  4. Dieter should make use of the top of the case that gets taken off when used, that should also be 2 more rows. then I'd def buy it, so it would have the Buchla 200e style look

  5. I was thinking the same thing Richard. I know Doepfer had plans to release something:

  8. I've often wondered why there weren't more case options out there. Pretty much everyone loves the space station look of the Buchla 200e but nobody offers a similar design for EuroRack. I guess I'll call up my Dad and have some father - son bonding over a building project...
