Freakenspeak Circuit Bent Speak & Spell

"Next stop on Califaudio's circuit bending ride is the Freakenspeak, a circuit bent Speak & Spell. If you're not familiar with the educational electronic toy made by Texas Instruments in the late 1970s, check out a virtual Speak & Spell or the circuit bent Speak & Roil online."

You can find the full post with samples on Califaudio.

  1. Hey I actually own one of these. Its the more stable of the two I own, but doesn't glitch out quite as much. So its the one I bring to shows on ocassion. You can have $2k vintage or new pro synth on your stand but they'll come up and ask you more about your bent stuff especially if its a bright orange speak-n-spell. Maybe because its featured in a Spielberg film probably even bigger than Close Encounters. Who doesn't know what that is?
