"equipped with factory MIDI and has the page 2 silk-screened on the front panel. It has an elaborate modulation routing configuration, especially with the "page 2" options which gives you a full additional set of parameters like an envelope (invertable!)for the lfo..speed and/or depth delay, just to name two! It has an extra LFO on the bend panel, also with many features: 6 waves from which to choose- up saw, down saw, square, S/H, noise, and triangle. Route to OSC 1, OSC 2, or both, and again, completely independent of the front panel LFO, which is probably already doing its own modulations on PW, FILTER, VCOs, and VCA.
THE ARPEGGIATOR (!) was way ahead of its time with the ability to program the intervals at which it can arpeggiate: DOWN, UP, UP/DOWN, and RANDOM. Yes, you do not have to rely on the $4000+ Jupiter 8 for the same (if not better)random arpeggiator ! It's hidden from the functions silk-screened on the bend panel, as are the programmable intervals, etc... Right now, it's programmed to arpeggiate octaves, (same as Jupiter 8's RANGE). It Sounds amazing and is the OB-8's best kept secret.
The OB-8 has 16 VCOs, 8 VCFs with 2 modes, and 16 VCA/EGs."
